    They already paid for him, and he's on WC roster where he'll get exposure ahead of the transfer window. No sense releasing a player like that that could net a team a transfer fee.

    And picked up options on everyone else on last year's roster, save the retired Gaven, the already waived Sanchez and Horton, the already under contract Marshall, Trapp, Viana, and Higuain, and the three players they are currently in negotiations with (Gruenebaum, Williams, Oduro).
