I am so excited for this home opener, that we have not even witnessed the season opener and I'm already jonesing to get to PPL. I can't wait to tailgate, drink a few brews and see our boys pound the Revs!

As a word of caution... if you are prone to anger issues and/or easily vomit, please avoid the highlights and matchcenter for the last matchup with New England. It was the 5-1 drubbing that we took last August that started the slide that left us short of the playoffs. Proceed with caution!

I can vote now. Loss. Two good games in a row will be Ludicrous.

Great playing for 99% of the game against Portland, and New England gets beat bad 4-0. This is a perfect set up for disappointment

As long as there is no added time at the end of ninety minutes the Union should cruise to three points.

It will be great to see the team we saw last night in person next Saturday. Given the results from last night, we should win. But that is why we play the games. I think we will win - 3-0.

2-1 for the U. Our turn for the stopping time dagger, earning back the 2 lost pts and making the week 1 "disappointment" a thing of the past. Another Motown Mac for the first goal and a Funky Cold Maidana OkugoBerry for the winner.

This should be one hell of a match. I could easily see this as 3-2 to the Union. Have to believe that the Revs won't play as bad as they did against Houston again this week. I see the Union's play improving as they gain familiarity with one another, and Williams returns to the Starting 11, making the attack even more dangerous. Goals from Jack Mac, a Golazo from Maidana, and the match winner from Mo Edu! Fagundez dazzles, and Sene hits one of his trademark nasty knucklers.

I hope we win this. I don't want to have to hear it from the one Rev fan up here.

Whose pride is more wounded? Watched a good bit of NE's opener. Houston opened up a can. NE comes in rev'd up or leaves in a heap of trouble. Their CB's will trouble on sets, and their midfield owned Philadelphia after game 1 a year ago.

The Union now have a group capable of playing the same game......but with greater physicality.
The issues for the U are defending wide pace and finishing. With some key pieces still probably out, and NE's largest deficit between the pipes-another draw seems a safe bet.

A hungry Philadelphia side come home ready to put on a good show. A defensive lapse spoils the clean sheet, but the Union win comfortably. 3-1.

I'm feeling this team and this could be shaping up to be a fun one to watch.

2-1 win. Give up a late one...

That's just not good enough. After last year's disappointing home opener, it's 3 pts or the bridge for me.

If the Union play like they did in Portland at home this week I think we come away with 3 points.

NE has some dangerous players and surely will put forward a better effort than they did in Houston, but it wont be enough against the Blue N Gold if we field a similar Starting XI.

    1-0 Union

A tie would be a good result here. I think they still need some time to be a team. And the last game we played NE still haunts my nightmares.

Despite all of the improved midfield play, this team still has not scored more than one goal against a professional side since 8/10/13.

I am hoping for a fun long day of Philly sports! Will be at the Flyers Penguins game 2 rows from the ice then I get to speed down 95 to PPL Park for the opener!! Definitely more excited about the Union game though. Hoping for a 2-nil victory but I think we win 2-1.
