You're using words like 'football genius' and 'revolution', not me or anyone else. You're creating your own contradiction.

I warned you that we weren't title contenders this year and thus didn't need RvP - and this is why. Complete change in personnel, formation, philosophy, etc. The bad run of form just gave Roman the opportunity to sack RDM now (since he clearly didn't want him from the start), appoint a manager he declares interim in the announcement itself and wait for Pep with deep longing. Benitez is obviously appalling, but he couldn't be any worse than AVB, so if we get knocked out of the CL he'll guide us to 4th place. All we need.

Do you actually watch football? The above two posts are some of the most illiterate ramblings on football since soccernet's staff writers stopped flinging poop at each other and sat down at a keyboard.

I am not arguing RA part in it but merits of RDM as a manager, I never said it was a right decision but RDM was after all another puppet, wasnt thought good enough to take over in the first place and got the job by default.

You said he was revolutionizing the club, well he wasnt, after that you are evading and nit picking.

A three man backline isn't Spanish but to correct you, I prefer intelligent football.

Obviously it is risky for City as it is for any side that doesn't practice it or has the players but it's good to see an English side at least begin to entertain the idea that thinking outside the box may be a good thing. Remember, the flaw of the English game has always been a fear of changing something because of its unfamiliarity.

I said he was changing things at the club for the long term. That much isn't something to be argued. The changes that have been made in the past year are progressive. Logically it doesn't make sense to remove him when he's working on a long term project and there have been no signs that he isn't doing the job, unless you're an unrealistic football maniac like RA.

I think RA is the one changing the club not RDM, he wants a change of style and aura about the club, I dont think RDM had a big part in it as he for me wasnt involved in major decisions.

get off your high horse and learn how to read. we all know that 3 at the back is italian. that's why i said "continental, preferably spanish". the spanish part refers to your reverence of the false 9 tactic.

a 4-2-3-1 is already a deviation from pure english tactic with two forwards. what is the need to tinker with a formula showing good results? city has a chance to develop cohesion with this group of players around a tactic that has all of their main players in a natural position.

I dont think RDM had a major role, from what kind of players they want or should get to how should they play it all feel like RA, so it was not a big surprise for me that he seeks a new implementor.

Anyone watching City vs RM? For the first 20 minutes, it looked like RM should be up by 4 goals or so -- and would have been if Modric's timing was a bit more in tune with his teammates (he'd hold the ball a smidge too long and they'd be called offsides).

Now City's come back a bit and had a few good chances....Yaya Toure just got a yk for fouling Ronaldo.

It's 0-1 at the moment btw....another great chance for City muffed.

Well you cannot talk about the last six seasons as if the period before didn't occur. He's definitely contributed to the destabilization of the club, but he built it up to begin with. To ignore that and analyze his impact is pointless.

So Benitez is confirmed, a 0-0 against City ? It would be interesting to see what he does with attackers that wont contribute defensively and a defense so eager to join the attack, plus a non existent midfield.
For whatever his flaws, he creates a strong and good midfield.

You assume I think Pep would work out - I'm not at all sure. If I knew what Roman was thinking long term, I'd be smoking Cubans on a yacht with models, not posting here.

It's funny how this description fits at least one Premiership club I can think of........;)

Anywho, enjoy Rafa's appointment; someone has to.
