I didn't see that the [head] specialty was covered in that section Helg posted, so...

Head specialists have a chance to score headed goals on corners and I think also set pieces and some special events. Head specialists on your own side help defend against this, although there is the drawback (mentioned below) that head defenders may be exploited by technical special events.

When I'm looking at the HT lineup screen, how do the wings work? I assume my left is my opponent's right? Trying to figure out how to stack my players for this week's league match.

Yes. Your right is his left and vice versa.

I don't know if this is true or not, but was wondering about youth pulls- If you choose not to pull someone one week, is there any chance of giving up a great player, or does he remain the best one in your system for the next week you decide to pull?

It is all random, not pulling a player one week is not gonna make your next pull be any better.

Moral of the story there is no reason I can think of to not make a youth pull every week. However, it is a lottery so there are more losers than winners.

There is a possible reason -- average YP value not exceeding the $1000 cost to make the pull. Dunno if anybody's figured out which way that lies.

True, but that's not a reason to make a pull on week A but not on week B.\

You could just decide not to make youth pulls at all, but that takes the fun out of the game.

Can you play 3 Midfield wingers in a 3-5-2? If not can you play 3 wingers in any formation. As you can figure I have a lot of young wingers and want to play them in a friendly so I can train them.

If not, should I just play one at an IM postion?

No you can't play with 3 wingers in the midfield, it's not a valid formation, and you won't get training for that week. If you want more of your wingers to get some training but you can't play him at a winger spot, the best place to put him, is in a wingback spot, because I believe he gets 50% training at that spot.

Actually, there isn't any way to set a lineup with three wingers.

Well I just had a winger go down with an injury. Will his replacement get PM winger training for me? And does this mean I can get 11 players trained this week?

Replacement will get training if that is what you are training. And the injured will get it if he makes it to +1.

    Question:

To change to a 3-5-2 I just need to make one of my defenders and extra IM.

    Correct?

    Question,

Is there like a level VI BS cup? How are cups organized? How can one participate / join one?

There is no low level BS Cup, it's basically just anyone that posts on BS that wants to get some friendlies without too much hassle and have something fun to play for. It just so happens that the only teams on hattrick on here that get knocked out early are division V and VI teams, except Mark, who just has sh!te for a reserve team and loses early every season.

Cups are organized by people that want to run them. For instance, the BS Cup is run by Helghallen and ur_land as the co-dictators, with me as the scheduler and website provider.

You can join a cup by watching the US forum on hattrick, that always has cup openings, I know that there is a cup called the Division V and VI cup, that is done for just teams in the divisions V and VI. Unfortunately, sign ups for the BS Cup are over, that cup starts this wednesday, but like I said, watch the US forum on hattrick for friendly cups. Especially at the end of the season, when the US usually does a country challenge when the US challenges another country and a bunch of teams sign up to play teams from that country around the same division as your team. I hope that helps.

I just noticed this at the HatXfiles page:

fanclub size - walkover in series/cupgame: -10% (for a WO in friendlies you will receive no training that week!)

Hello. What is considered a walk over to the point that it affects training?

Here is another question. In a few weeks I'll be playing a team that is running a 4-3-3. They seem to be destroying everyone. So far they are undefeated.

    Any suggestions?

A walkover occurs when a team does not field a sufficient lineup to play the game. The opposing team wins by forfeit by a 5 - 0 score. Training, team spirit, and AFAIK experience proceed as if the game had actually been played.

    VI.148.

Packmen is the team on top and are undefeated. I don't play them for a while. I have a more immediate concern of playing the Virginia Cannons. They seem to be scoring a basketfull of goals.

AND...This week I'm facing a team that has consistantly played a counterattacking 5-3-2. How do you usually approach a counterattcking team?
