Yes it is Sweden, Norway, Denmark that founded it and rotated in organizing it (together with Portugal, basicly Portugal arrange the playing fields and the Scandinavian country the rest) . Both Iceland and finald can be put in the C-group (and have been) when they are not up to the standard of A and B, but due to their relationship with the three organizer they can always get and invite if they want.

Iceland will probably always get strong consideration as long as it's ranked in the top 15/20.

It will at least not be replaced by a team ranked lower than them.

Will Rapinoe be able to play on the WNT at the Algarve?

Why shouldn't she? Conflicting with OL schedule?
In this case, also Ohno and Otaki could have problems? And Schelin? o_O

It is a FIFA window for international matches at the time for Algarve Cup* so OL can't stop them for playing for the WNTs, Lotta will be in the Swedish.

    * To make sure your matches are at the FIFA windows is a part of good organization most UEFA Federations knows. And Algarve is as mentioned earlier orginazied by the Scandinavian Federations.

Thank you JanBalk, I thought so too.
I was just wondering why Smallchief had the feeling that Rapinoe could have had some problem joining in. Maybe it's about USWNT allowing play only to players taking part to the US League or to some specific training camps in USA? o_O

USWNT do tend to arrive earlier than most, that could possible be a problem. But I can't see that would be a one unless coach Sermanni chose to make it.

France, according to what I read, won't be in the Argave cup, so I was wondering if the international players playing on French teams will be released to participate on their country's team.

"The release of players under the terms of paragraph 1 of this article is
mandatory for matches on dates listed in the coordinated international match
calendar and for all matches for which a duty to release players exists on the
basis of a special decision by the FIFA Executive Committee"
There are penalties against the clubs if the players are not released as well for those games in the FIFA calendar.

Whatever France is doing with Brasil, they are listed as participants in the 2013 Cyprus cup in the 2013 Cyprus Cup wiki.

And in that same article, it says France was not invited (in the header) and France is not seen in the "groups" section. =-p
Someone wasn't paying attention making the page, they put "France" in the section you're looking at instead of "Finland"
The page also links to the official Cyprus Cup site, and France isn't anywhere on there.

Yeah.... well, a lesson on Wikipedia and a lesson on reading Wikipedia. ;-)

It really is a problem on articles that few people read and edit. The Cyprus Cup article, for example, had only been worked on by one person (not counting an unregistered user correcting a single typo) so the lack of "group knowledge" lets things like that slip. [I just fixed the France->Finland thing myself.] There just aren't many people going through the women's soccer articles... I mean, I've edited twelve articles since the 10th spanning the US, Australia, and Europe, and I have the most recent edit on ten of those twelve.

A reminder to everyone on these forums, you don't have to be registered to make edits! If you see something that's incomplete or simply wrong, go on in and fix it!

Good stuff. $9.95 for the tournament package (all 4 U.S. matches). And in high-definition.
That's reasonable. It's not like anyone is gonna broadcast this in HD for free, without earning any revenue from it.

They've lost their initial set of investors and have now set up a KickStarter campaign to raise the funding they need:
