That is a lot of players returning from a club who sucked last season. At least there is something to be said for consistency.

So far only two, Barrera and Mendes. Klute started last season with the reserves team.

Pretty good core of players that can continue momentum into next season. The Silverbacks will be holding four combines. Two in the US, one in England, one in Germany.

11 of the BEST players. Hopefully they will round out the squad with even more high quality footballers. We actually kicked ass toward the end of the season once Haynes and Wynalda got the engine tuned up. Knocking on wood right now, but I think we'll be seeing an entirely different campaign in 2013. Buckle your seatbelts...

Well at least you can't finish ninth in the league....or eighth. Worst you can do is seventh.;)

I wonder for how long is the contract with the Silverbacks?

I mean to go out on loan for 2013 will he still have time on his contract to comeback and play for the backs?

Good question. I don't know. In my opinion the ideal outcome for everyone would be for him to stay in the 1st division and for us to continue developing awesome talent to take the place of players who move up.

He signed mid season so it could be a one year deal or even a one and a half season deal. I would rather see the Rapids buy out the Backs and he stay in First Div and the Backs make some cash.

Aside from them covering his salary, do we get any benefit from loaning him out to a MLS team? Just a good story to tell about our player development? I'd rather sell him and make some cash that we can turn into other players.

I'm pretty sure there is a fee paid by the receiving team. Otherwise what would be the incentive to loan out a player.

A warning to all NASL teams entering the jungle this year:

That makes sense. The typical scenario is for a club to loan a player out to a lessor team. Typcailly a player that isn't getting first team minutes with his club, but will benefit from playing time elsewhere. I'm thinking of Chelsea loaning Lukaku out to West Brom for example. Chelsea benefit because he continues to debelop as a player and West Brom pays his salary. The dynamics are a bit different when the loan is up the ladder, so to speak. Klute would definitely play for us, so if there's no financial incentence to loan him out it doesn't make sense.

According to that article, Traffic wants to sell their 65% of the team for about the price of a minor league baseball team. Brief Google research has revealed that AAA teams go for about $10 mil. Let's assume the team has 100 hardcore supporters. All we need is 65 grand each and we can buy that 65%, lol.

Homepage (BS) blog about Navia. What do you guys think?Like him as a player, but after what he said he's an idiot in my opinion.

Well those two things Navia has always been (just look at his history), now he is just and old player that still an idiot.

We need an egomaniac with deep pockets.

Any guesses as to who the groups are? I wonder if Mr. Blank is heading one up. I could see interesting marketing synergy between the Falcons and the 'Backs.

Anybody have any inside info on pre-season friendlies? That Charleston game last year was a lot of fun. Would be nice not to have to wait til mid-April for some ASFC footy.

So we lost Horth, our best scoring option up front. Where does that leave us?

Can Pedro Mendes continue to develop and replace those Horth's goals?
