Wouldn't it be Brine, another subsidiary of New Balance? A friend is an exec there in Foxboro and tells me the subs operate rather independently. Warrior tends to focus on lax, so this would be surprising... Guess he's due a phone call!

Today they registered the holding company "Holdco" (owned 60% by DiBenedetto AS Roma LLC & 40% by UniCredit) which will control the AS Roma assets in Italy.

Now we just need to wait for approval from the anti-trust and then the sale should be official.

Brine and Warrior jerseys suck. Brines soccer kits are recreational level and Warriors, hell I didnt know they actually made soccer kits but the lacrosse ones I wore in High School and college were just mesh pretty much.

I will be pissed if we end with either.

you would be crazy to think that an organization trying to globalize itself and triple revenue would even consider brine or warrior, or any other small company.

Then what the hell is the point of leaving Kappa and paying the $ to break the contract.

I suggested it because of this:

    I see.

It is interesting and a huge gamble on behalf of NewBalance to try and promote the brand through liverpool.

I forget who said it, but the best interest imo of Roma is a company to promote Roma, not Roma to promote a company.

btw, my cousin made that deal with Standard Chartered for Liverpool:D

It would be a huge gamble for Newbalance to try and promote Warrior by putting out that type of cash.

Its not what Roma needs; a brand to promote Roma is what they need, not Roma to promote a brand. I forget who said that earlier.

Italy is a different story of what you can and can't do as far as marketing. Different clientele, different people, different culture.

Also, Liverpool is already a global brand. MAJOR global brand.

DDR I never doubt your suggestions, and its merely a suggestion, but I highly doubt they'd go through with it.

Just for kicks, not sure if anyone heard, but UnderArmour is taking over Tottenham's kits and apparel next year; big news for UA.

Agreed, I think our Kappa jerseys as well as Italy's Kappa jersey (both 02 football, and current Rugby) are by far the nicest kits worn by any team, however I do agree it's a pain to find Kappa stuff to buy.

As for what happened, I have no idea, when they got the Italy deal I thought that was it, Kappa was skyrocketing, but somewhere along the way something happened.

Goes all overall with how Italy markets everything and every one of their products.... they seem content with keeping it small and boutique-ish. Do make a damn good jersey though

From what I've heard (and I haven't bothered to research this because it doesn't really matter to me), Kappa has gone bankrupt several times over the past decade. Every store I've talked to here in So Cal (especially because when I was playing as a younger kid, I wore kappa cleats for several seasons), they couldn't keep their Kappa merchandise in stock. That means to me Kappa has some seriously bad management. They have a great brand cache, with their logo being somewhat risque/edgy. I would say they are considered "cool". The fact that Kappa can't grow or keep afloat just screams inept management to me.

    completely agreed;

Nike and Adidas isn't Nike or Adidas equipment before the logo is put on it; where as with a brand like UnderArmour, im gonna use a direct quote from their owner that i watched in mgmt class, "UA is UA from the very stitch, completely before the logo is put on it."

What you guys dont understand is that it's not just the jersey.. Nike will give you t-shirts, training jerseys, sweat pants, hats, socks, shorts, braclets, watches, jackets, sweat shirts, etc.. It's the power Nike has to provide these goods that makes us fans want Nike so bad, and not "what the jersey looks like"..

Whens the last time you went into a soccer store (outside of Europe) and saw anything Macron? let alone hats, jackets and t-shirts?

So you actually like when Kappa place their logo on a jersey 3000 times?

by all the accessories listed above, he means a global product.

Kappa is not a powerful global product. I doubt they even have visions to be.

It's more than likely legit, before I had my doubts that it was the Soros plan rehashed since Joe Tacopina is involved. However now I see the good Mr. Tacopina has been attending matches with our president to be.

i wonder if we might purchase a player like Honda or someone, there's alot of talk in that business plan of expanding into asian/north american markets, developing 'world class' players from their etc.
