It was shameful. There are no words to describe this collapse.

I believe that Elizaga had to do something on all 3 goals that Avaí scored on Emelec. I think that he came back from his injury too quick. He did not look ready. Klimowicz would have done better.

    Re: CS Emelec

you guys better believe, there were plenty of brazilians rooting for you, because lots of teams DO NOT want any brazilian team to win the Sudamericana, because that will mean one less Libertadores spot in the brazilian league (3 spots if a brazilian team wins the Sudamericana, 4 spots if another south american team wins it).

    Re: CS Emelec

yet again like that time against Internacional, Emelec disappoints. The best player and most positive thing that I've concluded from Emelec is that Eduardo Morante is a sick ass defender. That dudes a barrier in the 1 on 1's and the aerial balls. Emelec has proven to me that they don't have that x-factor to compete in these tournaments. The x-factor is that they don't know how to maintain their focus and concentration in the game the full 90 minutes plus. They played one hell of a game for 82 minutes. Those other 8 minutes Emelec lost concentration, and Avai had a field day on them. I knew the team emelec built at the beginning of the year had a ton of potential and it was proven. They could have been in the quarter finals if they would have kept a focused and serious mentality for an extra 8 minutes. That's what sets Liga apart from these other teams. They aren't mentally prepared for these situations.

This is the possible lineup for tonight vs D Cuenca: Elizaga, C Quiñonez, Fleitas, Achilier, Gimenez, P Quiñonez, Quiroz, E Valencia, Caicedo, Rojas, Ayoví.

I hope A Mena returns to Emelec for 2011. He could play in the position of Biglieri or he could play somewhere in the midfield as a starter if he keeps his level that he is showing in D Cuenca.

    Re: CS Emelec

Emelec is sinking at the wrong time. I think they will not end in first place in the second round of the tournament and become champions directly. D Cuenca is on fire. Emelec will have to play a repechaje with D Cuenca or LDU Q. It is not over because Emelec has a few games to play. Let's see what happens this Saturday.

he was good before this year too, emelec had coaches that didn't utilize him the right way and left him on the bench. I mentioned him last year a ton of times but good for him, he was smart and left to a team where he can actually play.

    Re: CS Emelec

Emelec has had some really bad luck in the Striker position. Nobody not even the foreigners that they got has panned out. Rojas and Avoyi are good players for the league but internationally against better defenders? fooogettabouit..

If Emelec do not want a final, they need to win all their games left and hope for D Cuenca and LDU Q to lose some of their games they have left.

    Re: CS Emelec

Amazing victory by Emelec 2-1 vs D Quito. Lately D Quito has become a tough contender for Emelec to beat. Again Ayoví scores. Great move by Elizaga to center the ball and start the play for the second goal of Emelec. We all know that Elizaga made a big mistake on the goal scored by D Quito. Emelec plays Manta. Emelec needs to win this game to keep all their hopes alive to avoid a final vs LDU Q. Let's see what happens.
