How do we get this guy on the USMNT? He's of Liberian Descent but Im sure he would play for the US. Does anyone know his situation? How long before he can be eligible to become a citizen? Sorry in advance if this has already been posted

We only want him if he has a German mother or Mexican bloodlines.

Not that I don't believe you, but is this based on interviews or anything in particular?

He's not of Liberian descent; he's Liberian. His Dad was captain of the Liberian national team and I believe got a cap very recently. It seems like the family still has very close ties to Liberia.

    Driving in to Darlington Nagbe
Me and Wayne on the Fourth of July
    Driving in to Darlington Nagbe
Looking for some work on the county line
We drove down from New York City
Where the girls are pretty but they just want to know your name
    Driving in to Darlington Nagbe
Got a union connection with an uncle of Wayne's
We drove eight hundred miles without seeing a cop
We got rock and roll music blasting off the T-top, singing

    CHORUS:
    Sha la la
    Sha la la la la
Sha la la la la la la
    Sha la la
    Sha la la la la
Sha la la la la la la

Hey little girl standing on the corner
Today's your lucky day for sure all right
Me and my buddy we're from New York City
We got $200 we want to rock all night
Girl you're looking at two big spenders
Why the world don't know what me and Wayne might do
Our pa's each own one of the World Trade Centers
For a kiss and a smile I'll give mine all to you
Come on baby take a seat on my fender
It's a long night and tell me what else were you gonna do
Just me and you, we could

    CHORUS

Little girl sitting in the window
Ain't seen my buddy in seven days
County man tells me the same thing
He don't work and he don't get paid
Little girl you're so young and pretty
Walk with me and you can have your way
And we'll leave this Darlington Nagbe
For a ride down that Dixie Highway

    Driving out of Darlington Nagbe
My eyes seen the glory of the coming of the Lord
    Driving out of Darlington Nagbe
Seen Wayne handcuffed to the bumper of a state trooper's Ford

so f#cking stupid, yet I'd rep you if I could for a usage of seldom heard Bruce Springsteen song (since Born in the USA is when we all know he sold out).

    That could be Liberia calling....

I remember watching an interesting documentary about Liberia (http://www.vbs.tv/newsroom/the-vice-guide-to-liberia-1-of-8--2). Pretty sad what's going on there.

According to his wikipedia page he is not yet a US citizen.

I had Liberian teammates that had a video of what happened to their former dictator, that was some stuff that cannot be unseen. Assuming, Nagbe has his greencard already and depending on when he got that, would determine how much longer he needs to wait. Getting married to a citizen does nothing for you really, if you already have a greencard. He's probably still a few years away.

Getting married cuts the residency requirement by two years.

I guess in a soccer career, every little bit of time helps.

I finished reading the other thread you posted, and in Nagbe's case, getting married would definitely save him those 2 full years. So if this kid pans out, we're looking at atleast around 4 years before he can suit up.

Here's my math. Wedding in about a year, gets his green card, and in about 3 yrs files for his citizenship, and ~3-6 months after that to get sworn in. Then again, he's in Oregon and not a border state so I think it's faster to get things processed.

I had been given the impression that he got his green card this year. Is that not true?
