Anybody have this? Just looking at options for when I move back to the states. IS it what it advertises?

Yes it is exactly what it advertises. You get the conference show live on saturday, then you get the late day game in full live, then they show the post game highlights and analysis shows. After that it starts showing the rest of the saturday matches on tape delay.

You also get the friday match live, and the sunday matches (1 live, 2 on tape delay).

So why isn't everyone talking about this? All I hear are complaints about GolTV and crappy feeds.

It's cheap back in the states. I think I'd just get the "everything" package when I get back to the USofA.

Till then I'm going to enjoy SKY-HD. It's amazing. Watched the Game today for the first itme in HD and it's just AMAZING!

Hhhhhh. I wish DirecTV offered ANY German-language programming. But they have the NFL Sunday ticket, so I stick with DTV.

Though if I had that German sports package, I would leave the house even less than I already do. So maybe it's good that I don't have Dish.

Not any time soon, we have some Marines TDY here and I was just discussing how hard it must be to be a FOOTBALL fan in the US.

Married to a German for most of my adult life...no problem. Actually when I hear engilsh commentary it's drab in "UK english" and US reporters try and sound too much like "HE-COULD-GO-ALL-THE-WAY!!" which I find reallly obnoxious.

DirectTV plays the Champions League matches live this year. It's better than having to wait until Fox Soccer Channel plays the Manchester United CL game to watch Bayern on the delay.

Forgot about this free little feature. They are also showing UEFA cup games for free*

*so long as the games aren't being shown on Setanta/FSC/GolTV/ESPN

Can anybody comment if the other German channels are any good? I thinking about getting this not only to watch FCB, but to further my German learning.

I cannot comment directly here but I would recommend that if you have an ipod, iphone or other internet phone checking out Deutsche Welle. Its a german news station that do a learning german newspodcast each day. I listen daily and like it a lot.

Deutschewelle is good, the Prosieben/SAT1 channel is OK, but mostly shows German made for TV movies and 1 to 2 year old German TV series.

If I had more time left here, I'd get Sky HD too. My problem is, I already have too much. I get my service through Kabel Deutschland and between paying for the Kabel Digital Home with English packet, DVR and my Sky package (seperate), I'm already paying just too much.

But then again, I've read that since I already have the full Sky package, I would get Sky HD for just 5 Euro more.

It will be tempting if they allow me to have a contract for less than two years. I only have about 16 months left...... ;)

I'm going DirecTV when I go back to the USA.

I heard about the "My Sports Germany" package, but I don't see that as enough to go with Dish.

I'm also an NFL fan. And since I'll be a Philadelphia Eagles Phan living in South Texas, I want the opportunity to get NFL Sunday Ticket.

Ok, I just ordered this. They need to install a different dish and were trying to charge me $60 for installation, but I strong-armed them into doing it for free.

    Wise choice, Philly man!

You will drool when you see the CLS games in HD!!! Unfockingbelievable!

I have the 1st leg of Bayern-Juve on my DVR still just for reference. (no, they did not show the 2nd leg in HD).

HD is like a whole new experience. Imagine (if you wear glasses) the feeling after having LASIK.... eye opening!

SKY Sports HD... I"m going to miss that when and if I move back home..

    Yes, please post a review.

I'll consider installing an extra Dish if this service is worth it.

It had to be. Just as it was for me going to the old Texas Stadium to watch the Eagles kick the Cowboys' asses just about every year I lived there before.

That is what I've been told. I just have to decide whether I really want to pay for Dish Network too just to get the Bundesliga Konferenz.

It is Borussia Dortmund I'm truly interested in and I can get all of our Bundesliga matches over the internet through the club's new "meinBVB Beta" service.

That only costs 40 Euros a year and I can just connect my laptop to my LCD TV.

Well, it costs normal subscribers that money. I get it free as I'll be a moderator on their English message board when it is up and running again. ;)

What I'm really hoping for when it comes to viewing our game in the USA is a "soccer channel war" to break out between ESPN and Fox.

I'm hoping that will get one of them to pick up the Bundesliga.......

I was asked to post my experiences with MySportsGermany on here and basically the above post covers it though I need to make one correction: all Sunday games are shown live. If there are two going on at the same time, they will be shown simultaneously, much like what MySports does on Sat. at 930.

    Thanks Metro!

I think I'm really about to say "F#CK THE NFL!" and just go for DISH to get the "MySportsGermany" set-up!
