Sounds like a cool idea, am guessing this would be part of the US tour Pallotta mentioned

Also, there is a rumor Roma will play Chelsea at Fedex Field in Maryland as well.

We all pretty much knew an American tour is coming. Too bad this management wrapped things up too late, or we would've toured there last summer.

For starters, it's Liverpool. And second, just remember who played against Valencia.

it's better to watch roma from the olimpico. there's no substitute. i've only done it once and it was amazing. way better atmosphere than watching with a bunch of americans in gillette stadium, no offense

2 summers ago i went to watch the milan derby at foxborough, and the fans were so dull. most of them were hispanic and not italian. there were more colombian/ivancordoba fans than actual inter/AC fans

don't get too excited about roma's US tour

We greatly appreciate your constructive criticism.

Heaven forbid you have to sit with some Hispanic fans for 90 minutes. It must have been pure torture.

I know what you mean, i went to Baltimore last year to see Inter Vs Man City. City had a decent following, i tried to get tickets to be in with them but they were a bit too pricey. Not that i don't mind being in a stadium full of Hispanics, it doesn't bother me at all. It just made the atmosphere poor, especially how half of them were wearing AC MILAN tops, Barca and Chelsea tops. Most of the American fans i was surrounded by didn't have a clue about the overall game either, some of the comments were laughable. At least i got some comedy value with their lack of knowledge about "soccer" ;)

nothing wrong with hispanic fans, just the ones there specifically

they didn't seem to care about the game. they were rude, attemping to start the "wave" every 5 minutes. and they only cared whenever cordoba got a touch of the ball. also a bunch of them were wearing wayne rooney jerseys . the atmosphere was just poor is all. i've been in better atmospheres in some sports bars

they were only a small section. there were other things, like the americans behind me who kept complaining whenever a player made a backpass. or the asians in front of me who kept calling out for ibrah to come on, even though he was already transfered to barca

i know football isn't popular here, but c'mon!

I can't relate, it wasn't like that here when Roma played Liverpool (coincidentally) in 2005 or close to that year.

It was awesome, and I remember seeing Mexes, Montella, and Dacourt play....

I guess jersey just knows what's goin on. and by the way, we have italians and italian americans if you're lookin for em.

If it's anything like the 2003 Supercoppa match at Giants Stadium, it'll be a blast with every italian-american within a 100 mile radius.

    Rt 17 in Rutherford?

Idk if they come here that it would be there anymore, I think Red Bull stadium would do better...

Yeah they played here some time ago; mostly all british liverpool fans and Roma lost , Totti and Cassano didn't play. actually it may have been 2003-2004, since Cassano was definitely on the squad at the time, and he left January 2006

yeup, my office is right by that giant ridiculous loop on rt 17, next to that castle place

if it's a big enough football venue with a lot of demand, they'll still make it at giants stadium. it's not that hard to relay the pitch. last summer they played the gold cup at giants stadium even though red bull area was available. a friendly between mexico and venezuela was played there. i've only been to red bull arena once and it's kinda small. you can't have a supercoppa there, norr even a friendly between liverpool/roma

giants stadium is also closer to the city i think

The president of Fennway Park is quoted as saying they are working of the possibility of Liverpool playing a friendly there, but nothing is certain at this point in time.

last time they did celtic v sporting there it looked pretty idiotic to me. the seats behind the homeplate must suck, really suck, almost as bad as the corner flag seats in our olimpico. ironically, the best seats seem to be behind the GK's lol

they should do it at a venue with more italians, like new york or toronto

but since it's dibo's home, isn't there a proper football stadium in boston anywhere? even @ boston university/college maybe?

    That looks woeful :p

Would it not be a better idea playing it diagonally, ie one of the goals around the same area as the homeplate
