After the game on June 6th stop on over at The Green Room in Harrison for Punk Nite. Spinning all vinyl of Punk, Hardcore, Oi, Ska, Dub and anything that is cool. $2 Pabst Blue Ribbons and some late night snacking at the bar.

hey y'all - dynamo supporter here. Taking off at a suspiciously early hour tomorrow morning, meeting some clients at Suspenders for a drink, and then we're planning on heading to the stadium via Harrison PATH. Sounds to me like El Pastor is the place to go. I'll be in my Dynamo gear but I promise not to throw rocks at anyone ;) Don't want to step on any toes - is El Pastor away friendly?

Hey - if you park at El Pastor for some pre-game food/drinks, can you leave your car there for the duration of the game?

Is there some special handshake needed to get the $2 beer specials at El Pastor. I asked for the beer special and got served Miller Chill. MILLER. CHILL.

*please tell me what the code word is*

The $2 can specials are usually Miller Chill. So asking for beer special will get you that.

    Stella draughts: $2
    Bud draughts: $1.50
    Import cans & bottles: $4
    Domestic cans & bottles: $3
    Sangria: $20 pitcher

    Miller Chill is horrific.
16 oz $2 pints of Miller Lite would be awesome.

We went to Spain at the confluence of Market and Raymond today before the Churchill Cup and had a horrible meal. Decent prices, especially on the wine list, but poorly prepared food with tasteless recipes. Major disappointment. Excellent service though.

The place gets better reviews than that so either we picked the wrong dishes or the wrong day

The newness of RBA and the surrounding neighborhood must be wearing off... I miss hearing the colorful and mouthwatering Pre/Post Match Food & Drink descriptions...

Ah, had a "home tailgate" before the DC game. I left the house at 6:45, was parked on the street about 8 blocks from stadium at 7:00, and was in the stadium at 7:15.

Next league home game, I'll be back to trying the Ironbound fare.

    Hello NYRB fans,

This might not be the right place to post this, but I need some help. I'm on vacation in NYC between 21 July and 28 July. The problem is that Chivas plays the Copa Lib on 27 July. I would usually just go to my favorite Mexican restaurant in Houston to catch the game on Fox Sports en Español, but I have no idea where to go in NYC. Can you guys help me out? I don't want to miss the match, so if you guys have some hints I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

    Jesús

There are plenty of bars that will show games, but Navada Smith's is probably the most "famous" from a tourist perspective.

UPDATE: Yep, looks like the Chivas Copa match is on the schedule at 9PM.

I am moving to NYC in a month or so. I've always wanted my own club team, and now I have the opportunity. :)

I know there are several ways to get to the stadium from the city. From Manhattan, what do you guys believe to be the best (cheapest/fastest) method?

Not a "bandwagoner", I swear. I'm just a soccer fan who has been stuck watching the league from a distance, until now

You should take the PATH. It's $1.75 and drops you off right outside the stadium. Welcome to NY!

I come from Brooklyn and going to the World Trade Center PATH station and taking it straight to the stadium is the cheapest and easiest, total travel time is short too.

Re: Preferred way to get to RB Arena

On my last visit, coming from midtown I took the PATH from Herald Square and transferred free at Journal Square--but albeit to a full train. Is that still better, though (if coming from midtown) than taking a NYC subway to WTC and then the PATH over? And is that an extra fare, or is there something that works if you have a metrocard?

I know, I know, I live in Nebraska, but I will live in your area some day, I promise. I love transit, and it sucks where I live--but that's not the only reason I want to live there.
