hopefully montpellier don't follow auxerre's footstep,
btw anyone see that a lot of the top clubs are in some sort of transition
OM(board/transfer wise), OL(transfer/youth incorporation), PSG(transfer wise), Lille(replacing the wingers in their formation), though m'pellier is not a top club they seem to be the most stable with few folks probably going in or out

Dunno about that, Giroud and Yanga-Mbiwa both I think are pretty certain to leave in the summer, perhaps Belhanda as well. I doubt they will do an Auxerre because the supporting cast outside the "big 3" is actually really good but I don't see them as a title contender next year.

I would be very surprised to see any of them leave to be honest, unless some big money offers come along, probably after next season

hope you're right but Nicolin seems open to possibly sell

I guess it comes down to what a good offer is.

i don't see how any comparison with auxerre can be drawn. the problem with AJA was not that they lost important players(who left that did anyone else any good?); they had been playing way over their heads to get that CL spot already and even at iso-roster they were bound to sink right back to mid-table: the fact things got worse (much worse!) in (not only!) my opinion is all down to the three old fools in charge (les trois "papys flingeurs").

montpellier's case is much closer to bordeaux's; even though they rose more quickly from much lower, they had a steadier and more solid progression and if their winning the title this year was a surprise, their fighting for it was not. and though they will struggle next year with the triple whammy of added exposure, CL fixtures and players leaving or wanting to leave, i expect a similar trajectory: a year or two in the ventre mou and then back to challenging for a european spot.

the fact that they overachieved is the basis, yes no one really good besides maybe jallen(?) left and he flopped at lille but the overall squads were acquired cheaply and are not worth that much with the exceptions of giroud/belhanda/yanga, but before this season they were relatively unknown
You're right though they are closer to bordeaux which is a positive, they also have young players that can stay and eventually be sold to re amp the squad later on

I dont usually like to make predictions, but now that Marvin Martin has chosen Lille, I predict Boudebouz will go to OM, and Anthony Mounier will go to OL to replace Bastos.

I thought they would want to keep him since they have Puel there but he is rumored to be going to OM or OL.

Can we all laugh at OM now ? Im sick of hearing about their financial problems. I am a Ligue 1 fan and a large OM is good for everyone but their money problems are just so embarassing that its hard to support them. I still cant figure out why DD hasnt quit by now.
