Got an idea for any Cardiff City fans lurking here on a nickname for KBK:

    Kimbo

Don't be a retard and sing songs about eating dogs. It's the equivalent to the English singing songs about you fornicating with sheep.

Well, best of luck to him at Cardiff. I'm confident he'll make a positive impact.

Hopefully I'm not parroting too much whats in the korean article. But it sounds like he wanted to stick to his word after picking Cardiff because the EPL club came in after he had done so. Now as for his stupid agent for forcing him to pick so early...

Well hurry up and do it already. Apart from that one cross that KJC fluffed wide he didn't really put his stamp on the Mexico game at all.

He's been quiet the last two games. The only times I even noticed he was playing was the cross you described and someone (Ki?) played him on from a quick counter off a Mexico corner. Could of done a bit better but didn't get the call after being dragged down. He might have had to slow down a step to connect to the pass letting the defenders catch up.

The KBK affair will be interesting to see how effective, if at all, the EPL-thru-Championship route will be for a KPA.

I'm surprised there is no further gnashing of teeth after KBK's sweet goal today.

Oh there was plenty from Korean netizens.
I'm more surprised of the love PJY is getting from Korean netizens. Although, Korean netizens are a bit like BSK's mudang. Serious Jerkyll and Hyde.

i gotta admit, when i saw kbk's goal, once all the euphoria wore off, i thought, man, that could've led to some great offers. that was just an incredibly well taken goal

We know KBK's got the skills, but I have to admit that besides his goal, he's been pretty invisible.

Perhaps a year in the Championship with guaranteed playing time will be a good way to unleash the animal in him.

As a cardiff fan i was well happy watching kimbo yesterday. He seems to have all the tools to become a top player. His use of the ball was excellent and technically he looks very good. my one doubt about him after watching south korea's first two games is the lad's belief in his own ability.
In the first game there were two free kicks on the edge of the box which were perfect for a left footer to take but both times he left them for the arsenal lad (and i could have told you twice that a right footer was never gonna trouble the keeper from there).
And yesterday as well he just doesnt seem to demand the ball enough.

I just want to say, contrary to what some of you think, i dont believe he'll get lost in the championship, but i truly think it's the perfect platform for him to flourish, playing with the likes of peter whittingham (who was regarded by many neutrals as the best player in the championship last year) Jordon Mutch and possibly craig bellamy and a few others.
I think being one of the focal points of a championship team will help kimbo more than being just another player in a premier league team at this present time.

Normally Kim takes those FKs. But he's lost form and focus quite a bit prior to this tournament. I think it's from the distraction of the transfer move itself...

He was badly missing those during our friendlies leading up to the Olympics. And he was not hitting his corners properly. Hence why he was taken off both the inswingers from the right as well as the left footed set pieces.

Although that angle does not favour a right footer, Park has scored plenty from that angle in the senior set up.

Normally, he does demand the ball quite a bit. I think it's equal parts lack of form and nerves. His first touch has been poor until the second half of yesterday's match. That's uncharacteristic and definitely shows his nerves imo...

We took a very experienced front line and midfield to this Olympics. It's taking him a bit longer as one of the less experienced/capped footballers on the pitch to settle his nerves and not defer to those around him.

Hopefully he gets his act together. If he medals in this Olympics and earns a military exemption, his transfer value will instantly double for Cardiff City overnight.

Thanks for the response, I wasn't aware that his form has dipped recently as asian football doesnt get much exposure over here.
Hopefully his goal yesterday will boost his confidence and help korea do well in the rest of the tournament.
Like i've said in my previous posts, i'm sure the lad will do well at cardiff and i believe he's in good hands with malky mackay as his manager.

Assuming Swansea stay up next season and Cardiff get promoted it will be weird seeing two Welsh teams in the EPL.

KIM Bo-kyung, Cardiff City’s newest signing, is being tipped by a South Korean team-mate to be a major hit in Championship football.
The £2m winger fired Korea’s winner in their 2-1 Olympic success against Switzerland and team-mate Ki Sung-yueng, who plays club football for Celtic, says: “Bo-kyung is one of our aces – I believe he will be a success for Cardiff.”
Kim signed a three-year contract with the Bluebirds only a few days before his Olympic match-winning moment for his country.
“He is a very good player and one of the aces of the squad,” said Ki. “I have a strong belief in him. He is smart enough and good enough to play well in English football.
“The only thing he needs to consider is the cultural differences. The circumstances are quite different here when you compare them to Korea.”
Take a look at his goal here
Kim hit form for Korea after struggling to produce his best in recent internationals, but team coach Hong Myung-Bo insists his faith in the midfield player has never wavered, saying: “He is an important player for us and I trust him.”
Kim is City manager Malky Mackay’s fourth signing of the summer, following Jordon Mutch, Etien Velikonja and goalkeeper Joe Lewis, and there are three, maybe four, to come between now and the end of this transfer window at the end of August.
Mackay wants another defender to increase competition in the back four, while a winger and a forward are on his wanted list.
“We will have to be patient and wait for the right players to become available,” says Mackay, who may have to wait until other clubs, probably at Premier League level, strengthen their squads before he is able to move.
There is little doubt Mackay would also love to add Welshman Craig Bellamy to his squad for the new season, but that depends on talks between the player and Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers. With Bellamy playing for Great Britain in the Olympics and Liverpool on their pre-season tour in the USA there is unlikely to be any progress on Bellamy’s situation for the next week or so at least.

cause only 9 and 13 were available and 13 is more suited for him. 10 and 7 were taken.

Maybe the PJS comparison is another reason..
