Taylor was rated a 5 by Kicker for his 65-minute appearance. It looks like he played as one of two strikers.

He was a garbage-time sub in both of Paderborn's final two games before the break. Paderborn is in fifth place and only off of a promotion spot by goal differential, plus they have the league's leading scorer (Nick Proschwitz), so I doubt Taylor will see a significant increase in playing time anytime soon.

Paderborn is now tied for first place, but is second on goal differential. Taylor was on the bench for the match today. If they get promoted, will this be the biggest rags-to-riches story since DeMerit went from the Pub League to the Premier League?

That's definitely worth a film, only DeMerit was actually starting. When was the last time Taylor scored in or started a match?

Taylor scored a last minute equalizer for Paderborn today in a 2-2 draw against Dresden, his 2nd league goal of the season.

Taylor had a good game this weekend, as the topscorer for Parderborn Nick Proschwitz, was injured in the face in the 18th minute and had to be taken out. Taylor replaced him and scored 2 goals in the 55th and 61st minutes to lead a 3-0 win at Alemannia Aachen, who finished with 10 men.

Kicker online has a great headline for this: Joker Taylor schnürt den Doppelpack (Translated by Google as: Joker Taylor strangled the twin)
    http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...alemannia-aachen-110_sc-paderborn-07-109.html

EDIT: Sounds like both goals were off rebounds. He has a 4 league goals in 16 games, along with 3 goals in the Cup (2 games).

You know, Taylor's made a habbit of scoring goals in limited minutes throughout his stay in Europe, in a respectable league, too. Quite impressive. I have to tip my cap to that. Underrated player.

Unfortuantely that's a plainly wrong translation, though.

literal: Joker Taylor ties a double package
translation: Joker Taylor scores a brace

I just checked three German-English dictionaries, and neither listed those used by google as possible meanings either, btw.

It's still curious that 65% of his 2. Bundesliga goals come from 3 games (out of 47). I can't speak for the US opinion outside of this board - but I'd say in Germany he is rated about right (as a decent, hard working 2nd division back up).

In the US I think he is very lowly-rated as he is perceived to have "washed out" of MLS. However, I can't really compare his career in MLS to how he's doing in Germany now. He seems to have improved a bit over there.

Quite impressive. No shame in that. Any remote chance that they might actually win a play off match and be promoted?

If they continue to play like they do right now, they might get promoted directly even.

It's hard to predict, really - if you look at the players they have, there's no way you'd expect them where they are. Most of their players are career second and third division players who never did anything of note - unlike the much more prominent players teams like Frankfurt and Fürth have. But they work very well together this season, and the much predicted drop in form hasn't come so far.

Taylor came on in the 64th minute today at home against 1860 Munich and drew a penalty and a red card in the 66th minute as Paderborn came back twice for a 2-2 draw. The result leaves Paderborn in 5th and 2 points behind 3rd place Fortuna Düsseldorf for the promotion playoff spot with 5 games remaining.

Taylor came on in the 65th minute today as Paderborn suffered a very costly 2-0 loss on the a road against relegation battlers Karlsruher SC. The result, coupled with wins by Fortuna Düsseldorf and St. Pauli, cause Paderborn to fall 5th and 2 points behind third place Fortuna Düsseldorf for the promotion playoff spot with two games to play.

Wrong Münster, though (the cheese one is Münster, France).

Apparently Taylor has been on a tear in preseason. He leads Preußen Münster in scoring with 5 goals thus far. He had a brace in the last match for the only 2 goals scored by the team.

Preußen's pre-season results have been rather uneven so far:

June 15: 8-3 Wettringen (8th division) (3 goals from Taylor)
June 16: 7-0 Billerbeck (Taylor DNP)
June 22: 3-0 Rinkerode (9th division) (no goals from Taylor, he went 90)
June 23: 12-0 Greven (Taylor DNP)
    June 26: 0-1 Brøndby (Taylor went 45)
June 27: 2-0 Siegen (4th division) (2 goals from Taylor)

Anyone know if he'll be a sure starter for this club? I'm guessing since he was a sub at 2 Bundesliga team, he should definitely be starting in 3 Bundesliga.
