Here is the only hint we have so far on who the new head coach will be.
All I know is the club is supposedly looking to cater to the latino population and style of play. I suspect a Hispanic coach. Doesn't narrow it down that much but I'd be surprised if it wasn't someone from central/south america.
Don't you have to be on a national team to play in the world cup?
Any latin ex-Atlanta player meet that profile?
I was thinking Alex Pineda Chacón, but I don't think he ever played in the World Cup with Honduras.
nope.. never sadly.
Sounds like you guys are closer to hiring a coach than the Rowdies! Ugh!
Why is Atlanta the only team without a coach? There is 2 days from open tryouts and a couple months from the season...Atlanta will always be a pub team. They had a good team before they folded and still couldn't get things done in the front office and from a marketing stand point. Now, with a more limited budget they plan to be better than before and things were AWFUL at the stadium before. High School games were more organized and professional than the Silverbacks. GO SILLYBACKS!
PS. The Hispanic route is the wrong direction....Miami tried that and they failed so why would that work in Atlanta?
I have always been told if you going to do something then do it right and the Sillybacks don't seem to understand this basic concept.
A lot of stuff has happened since that first announcement. I wondering if they will even play now, since the league has lost sanctioning. Will Traffic pull funding?
I agree wholeheartedly with your last statement.
So here's the new coach:
Let's hope that he has a team and league.
Good signing, just hope there's a team for him.
