We can make an official thread for all things media related for the new league. Any news about television, broadcast partners (TV, radio, web), any upcoming streaming or on-demand video news, any photos, or anything media related, can go in this thread. As things stand right now: - Six television networks are bidding to televise NWSL matches. - Unconfirmed reports in the recent past have stated that U.S. soccer is in communication with Fox and NBC as two of their potential partners. U.S. soccer has a good relationship with them. - Multiple franchises (including Kansas City, Boston, and Chicago, have stated they plan to stream (webcast) some, most, or even potentially all home matches. - Players such as Leslie Osborne have hinted on twitter that big news could be announced around the corner regarding potential television deal(s). - A finished operational website will be launched by the end of 2012. Fans need to demand a better website, compared to the WPS website. Photo albums need to be more prevalent, bigger in size, and easier to navigate. On-demand video (and highlights) need to be inclusive and in sharp quality (as much as possible). This is 2013 (soon). It's no longer 2009. The league will benefit from this exposure. It is this exposure, ticket sales, and word-of-mouth (& creative low-cost advertising), that will generate the enhanced awareness the league needs to grow and sustain success. Franchises have a roster salary cap of $200,000 per year. This league should survive. If they only get WPS turnout (in attendance) they will survive. I'm hoping for even better attendance than in WPS (in 2010 and 2011), and strive for WPS 2009 attendance as much as possible. This league can and will grow and succeed. Let's keep all multimedia and broadcasting news (as well as visual aids, links to picture albums, etc.) in one organized thread. The inaugural match is about 100 days away.
