We've had success on the road there, but that was in their old stadium.

A win here will mean they've definitely been reborn as a new team... so long Zolo, hello Zolz.
A tie here would satisfy me.
A loss would hurt, but wouldn't shake my faith (yet).

A win means we're World Champions, a loss means life no longer has any meaning

I just want to see the boys play hard, smart soccer for 90 minutes. Those teams usually end up earning points.

While it probably won't be 95 degrees at game time, playing tonight and then in that heat Saturday and then flying home and then cross-country to LA to play at 11 PM may lead to some dead legs next Wednesday night.

Anyone know whether the team is planning to fly directly from Houston to LA or fly home in between?

If it ain't broke ... I don't want to see empty-bucket-bunker-ball on the road anymore. I don't think Soumare slots into the Starting XI just yet, as he'll need time to get match-fit and acclimated with his new team mates,

We did well at Robertson Stadium in the past (barring playoff under-performances). It's time to make the Dutch Oven ours as well.

I think the least expensive flight included a 6 hour layover in Edmonton.

Can Houston actually score in the run of play? They did it once this weekend against Montreal, and it wasn't even a header. Have there been any others?

The Union are undefeated when I'm in attendance, so I expect a win.

It doesn't sound like we'll be seeing him for about two weeks. There's a link. Somewhere.

So if I were to take a guess, he'll debut for us at home against TFC on July 8th.

We need to see the same lineup as last night with Valdes for Lopez and Gomez for Lahoud. That is a winning lineup.

With the exception of that first half against NY, are we getting anything from Freddy Adu that we wouldn't get from Roger Torres?

Well............despite the give aways and fancy step overs..........he does draw a crowd of defenders nearly every time he gets the ball in space, and that does help the team (opens space for others). The past few matches he has also busted his butt to get back and help out on D. His free kick led to the second goal against SKC as well. The CK he took in the second half was perfectly placed to Pajoy last night, but the post denied him. We need to measure his performances in terms that are greater then just goals and assists. He'll most likely never meet the ridiculously high expectations that have been set on him by US Fans. The big thing for Adu is consistency in his play, and I want to believe that we will see better performances more consistently from him as this season continues.

I would be ok with this line-up although I don't love Adu on it. He does draw in defenders as jaykoz3 said and everyonce in a while shows good vision, but at the same time I will disagree with the defensive effort. I think it could be better, at least pressuring people high. Maybe you can do late subs for him and Mcinerney for 2 of the young ones like Martinez.

Based on the past 2 games, Adu comes out in the 60th minute +/- for Hoppenot. Lahoud could replace Gomez if the latter isn't up to full fitness yet. Torres or Martinez for Pajoy.

eexactly, although I think Pajoy can go the 90, maybe a late sub to buy/waste some time.

I like it, but why not shift Gomez back for either Gaddis? Put Daniel/Lahoud in that mid wing spot. I think Gomez > Gaddis both defensively and offensively, and we could have a natural winger in the midfield role.

I don't think Lahoud is a natural winger, and he's been doing alright in that spot in a 4-3-3. I'm not the biggest fan of Gomez, but Gomez>Lahoud. No way you put Gomez as a RB, when the team constantly plays with the wingbacks overlapping and sending crosses in.

Actually, that was my thought. Gomez seems to have a mean cross. Also, he's a gifted defender. We don't have enough defenders and have too many mid's. Isn't it a natural progression? I agree Gomez is better than Lahoud, but the real question is Lahoud/Daniel vs Gaddis isn't it? Id' think Lahoud/Daniel is better, Gomez can put the ball into the box, and it gives us defensive depth. It's definitely not putting Gomez in his natural position, but he's not a natural midfield winger either.

Lahoud/Daniel vs Gaddis at what ... right wing, or right back?

I think my point is, and this was even evident when we played a 4-4-2/4-5-1/whatever, is that our midfielders aren't necessarily wide, chalk-on-their-shoes, natural wingers. We had that in Salinas, perhaps could've had that in Khalfan. Daniel and Adu can hug the touch-line, but neither of them have the pace required (?) for a winger. All/most of our midfielders seem to float inside, a lot. Removing a midfielder and adding a forward centralizes these 6 guys, and really provide the room up and down the sides of the field for G Farfan, Williams, or Gaddis to run rampant.

I think, if we want to get specific, it's less of a 4-3-3 and more of a 4-1-2-3 with Carroll the deep spot in a 3-man triangle midfield.
