Is there gonna be a training camp like last year? In January?
Australia qualified as the fourth team at the 2013 East Asia Cup, in the end on goal-difference against North Korea.
didn't deserve it all, honestly.
No one was convincing, just a contest between Australia and North Korea on how many goals they could barge past the likes of Guam and Taiwan.
It was Australia's C team pretty much but if the youngsters step up next year then it'll get interesting. And they'll be a breath of fresh air from playing against the kungfu tactics in this compeition.
ah well then.
Is Japan already seeded for the tournament? how does that work exactly? how many team competing?
could be wrong, but I think it's just a Japan-Korea-China + 4th team (Australia I think then) tourney.
There's always a helping hand named Wikipedia, you know:
It always surprises me how many things are asked that could be solved with 1 google or wiki search.
I like to communicate with other posters here, Asking a question, hoping to get an answer from someone and start communication. rather than just always reading and not participate in conversation.
And also, I asked question when I'm a little busy to google search or wiki, just want a straight forward answer, especially when I'm away from the net and can't spend much time reading an wiki article or going thru webpages, while I should be working or otherwise unavailable.
But thanks for the links.
Now apart from the 3 already seeded, Japan China and ROK, it seems quite a few teams participate in the qualifying round, of which I didn't know they are parted EAFF, or that they have their own teams, Hong Kong, Macau, NMI and Guam.
surprised that Japan never won the Tournament before.... I hope this time the Samurai Blue can correct that this time.
Oh, and I didn't find the info on wiki, but why is Mongolia suspended from competing until 2014?
According to the voting outcome at AFC Congress held in January 2011, the Mongolian Football Federation was suspended to conduct any activities at the EAFF until EAFF Ordinary Congress of March 2014.
As said in this post, they have not paid some fees, organizational or membership I presume.
Should've won in 2011, they fell apart after some Tulio shennanigans. I recall Japan playing HK in that tournament also.
2010? They got rolled by South Korea......Japan came 3rd ffs.
Shit yeah I was thinking of the AFC for some reason. Yup 2010, people need to watch that game to answer the question why Tulio isn't in the NT anymore.
Okay but no way that was a case of "Should've won". Not even close.
Perhaps not they started well, but fell apart after that.
Not only that, played crap the whole tournament. 3-0 over Hong Kong, 0-0 with China and getting raped by Korea. Of all EAFF tournaments to say it was one we 'should've won', that's the last on the list.
Too harsh in my opinion the team played like shit, but had some decent talent that did well at the WC.
Irrelevant what they did at the WC cause we're not discussing that, they played poor at the tournament we're discussing which you feel they "should've won".
When I say 'crap' I mean crap in relation to what they are like at their best/close to best/average/bad.
There have been 4 tournaments in the history of the EAFC (before that there was Dynasty Cup), the 2010 one was Japan's worst one of the four. So that's why the 2010 one is the LAST one you could say "should've won".
How is it irrelevant? The team is mainly comprised of the same players in this tournament. Obviously based on their play they shouyldn't have won and thus they didn't any damn fool could've concluded that.
Our discussion has been when you said this......I don't know why you bring WC into it lol.
At least you've now joined the rest of us damn fools who are in agreement on the matter.
Bring back Tulio in the NT, I don't trust Konno
What's happening to Konno, is he staying at Gamba or can he bail?
He is staying.
(I was ironical)
(but I wouldn't mind seeing Tulio back, while I understood Zach's choice, he never stopped deserving a call up)
I know, you've established your feelings for Konno long before haha. Up there with Hirayama and Osako's the latest (did I miss anyone?).
I'd love to at least see Tulio have a go. Though I still don't mind Kurihara.
