Doc says we are too negative. Let's get the annual positives thread kickin around to talk about the good things in Revsville. I'll start:

I'm excited to see Andy Dorman return, and how much influence Cisse may have in the midfield. Two technically proficient central midfield players who, for now, add much needed depth and talent to a squad that needed better play centrally.

A year's worth of experience for Rowe will help. Hopefully Nguyen and Sene's injuries heal well and quickly.

On paper we seem to have a decent midfield. If we can strengthen the back we will have a much better year.

You have to think Bengtson is going to have more success this year.

The Revs have signed two players and will be in camp day 1 of training in January. I honestly believe we will see another 2 additions before the season and the back line will be addressed.

The fact that they signed a couple of new guys who should make a difference before the '12 season was even over is a very good sign. If this is all they do for new player acquisition I will be disappointed, since the back line is clearly the biggest weakness. If, before training camp begins, they sign a couple of new starting-calibre backs, I willnot only be very happy, but be absolutely amazed.

So if this falls under the category of "you feel a lot better when the beating stops," so be it, but these are definitely positive steps by the organization. Of course, this kind of thing would be "normal" for other clubs, but hey, we're supposed to be shiny happy people holding hands in this thread...

I must say that after years of piss poor security issues, there did not seem to be any major issues this year with TeamOps. In the Fort there were no longer the slow patrols up and down the aisles with them giving everyone dirty looks. There seemed to be less of a presence of them in the fort overall and a more hands off approach to all of us.

Fagundez will be a year older.
He's got a decent amount of pro experience for someone his age.

Beckham, and how his presence changed MLS. And that the Galaxy laughably sucked for his first two years :p.

--No broken down old guys getting signed (post Moreno, that is)
--No ridiculous offseason scouting trips to Africa that were doomed from the get-go
--The Jay Heaps Honeymoon is over. That's a positive, because he OWNS everything from here on out, even though we all understand how the organization really functions. What happens starting on March 2nd is a Jay Heaps production, and he strikes me as a stand-up guy who isn't going to hide from the responsibility. And if he tries to, he will be ridiculed, and that's a positive, too. Having a year where everyone's just going "aw, shucks, he's new" is not, in the end, good for an organization.

There is no looming lockout for MLS! All of us hockey fans understand how much of a relief it is knowing their will be a kickoff come March provided the world does not end.
This team is absolutely going to be better next season (duh), and I believe their not too many pieces away from having an MLS Cup contender! (albeit some rather big pieces)

We need to do a video similar to the following highlighting all the positive things about coming to New England and playing for the Revolution: . We could then distribute it to any and all out-of-contract players as a means to promote the region over going to Los Angeles or New York.

Excellent point. When things were bad we quickly vented out frustrations. Now that things have been going well we should all acknowledge the improvement.
