Brad Davis just tweeted this picture of the locker room. If that custom paint job doesn't get the guys fired up I don't know what will.

    From Goff's main story:

Emphasizing the importance of building fitness and form, Klinsmann said many players from Portugal, Germany and Ghana are well ahead of his squad after completing 10-month campaigns with European clubs. Conversely, half of the U.S. roster is employed in MLS, which is barely one-third through the season.

“Every day we have at our disposal is really important to us because a lot of our guys don’t have the same foundation as our opponents,” he said. “We have to be clear about that. They have X amount of games in their legs. Hopefully we can catch up and maybe get a little bit more on top of it. It starts today.”

Now in the past I always remembered hearing how MLS players had an advantage going into the World Cup, since they weren't burned out after a 10-month season like the European-based players were. So which one is it? I'm confused...

I hope Klinsmann is relying on a professional for that kind of thing. He doesn't need to decide for himself that the MLS guys need to pack 7 months of fitness training into 2 weeks.

Exactly. Purely from my perspective, I'd take the MLS players fitness levels (and relatively fresh legs) over those that have had 10 months of rigorous play on them every day of the week. This camp will get the MLS fitness levels up a little but their legs are going to be fresher than the Euros. That jungle atmosphere in Brazil is going to be draining on the Euros.

Could be. Good pick-up. He's probably there as 4th goalkeeper so there's an even number.

So I've never been to a practice. Are they pretty much boring affairs where a bunch of stary-eyed soccer geeks stand around dreamily gazing at so and so's hair while hoping to get an autograph or are they pretty entertaining?
