So It's not a FIFA date ( I might be wrong) so I don't see this as a total disaster, It might be a good game to try all local players,Dominguez, Banguera, Erazo, Campos, Madrid, Paredez, Gaibor, Enner Valencia,Matias Oyola, Fidel Martinez, Saritama, Mendez, Cheme, Narciso Mina, Bieler, De Jesus, Fernando Hidalgo, and if we are lucky, Guerron if called up might be allowed to come and play since we are practically close.

Araujo should not start...Morante takes that spot IMO.

araujo and any other nationalized player should not be on the NT period. Not necessary right now. We are fine and up til now we are not struggling in any area. Its a matter of time, but we've progressed collectively in defense as well as up front since the qual. started. Rueda just needs to make the proper selection of players who make the NT and start. Why even mention Oyola, Bieler, Barcos, and Araujo when we got Gaibor, Morante, Felipe Caicedo, Guerron...shoot even players like Hidalgo, Pedro Quinonez, Fidel Martinez, And Arroyo who dont even make the cut. Thats unfair. Theres enough talent to work wonders. Lets not underestimate what we have.

I do not see it as underestimating our NT players, but as alternatives, There's no shame in accepting Hernan Barcos superiority over our forwards and if he expresses desire to become Ecuadorian why not offer him a spot in the Ecuador team? I know some people will bash Oyola, but I think hes an awesome player, the closest thing we have to Mendez (IMO) Bieler is top scorer in Ecuador, and Araujo's level has had it's up and downs, but can you honestly tell me hes playing below Campos and Erazo? Morantes hasn't played this year yet, Guys, as a Bacelonista it hurts to admit because of his bond with Liga, but Hernan Barcos might be one of the 3 best forwards in America.

i never denied the talent of any of the guys you mentioned. if anything ive always applauded them and given them props. But how do we know theres nothing close to Mendez when we havent even tried out Gaibor, Miller (who lots of people think is the closest thing to mendez), and others who are dying to get a chance?? Thats where im getting to. no nationalized player should be considered over our own UNLESS our players completely suck. which is not the case here. i have no problem and actually feel a sense of security with Campos, Erazo,Morante. Shoot, i even believe Jefferson Hurtado could have gotten his chance on this team if he would not have gotten injured 6months ago. Narvaez will break into El Nacional soon its only a matter of time. Theres talent in the campeonato alone to build an awesome NT. like i said, its a matter of who Rueda selects.

I disagree. As a nationalized player, they are now Ecuadorian. I won't doubt it, and their legal status spells it out. "Authentic" or not, they deserve a spot if merit dictates such. Of all the nationalized players, I'd pick Barcos ahead of the rest.

Benitez, Ayovi, Caicedo, and Barcos would probably get the call-up from Rueda.

I dont know bro, I find it extremely unfair. People like Guerron literally BUST their ass off in tough leagues and have proven their worth AND STILL dont get a call up. And for Barcos to just come in and take over is just wrong. Barcos is the man and all but everything has its limits. I got my ecua jersey on under my liga jersey and will support 100% ecuas over all without being bias. For Rueda to call up Barcos and not have called up Guerron all last year and then some (besides having him benched the game vs. Venezuela) is even considered discrimination in my eyes. Those things really bother me. Same goes with Felipe Caicedo, even if they have their differences. If Barcos makes it to the NT ill still support him unconditionally but i think theres others who've put in work for a WHILE and deserve it a lot more than him.

Dude, no disrespect to Guerron but he really hasn't accomplished much, we find him now EARNING a starting role in his team which btw is playing second division, in the meantime, Barcos has already scored more goals in his first 7 games than Guerron did ALL of last year(in the same league I might add but in a better team) we cant just look at Barcos' playing ever since he got his citizenship, Barcos has been doing great things for a while now, besides I know we should give Ecuadorians their chance, but who is better than Barcos now? Caicedo is done until mid summer (his team is eliminated), Yoya has been on a drought, Tenorio's career might be over, and in the National tournament, call me crazy but the only 2 Ecuadorians that have gathered my attention a little bit is Vinicio Angulo and Alex Colon. The rest N Mina, Montano, Marlon De Jesus, have all sucked, Oyola should still earn it, he isnt having a great year is he? but Barcos already earned it.

I dont know exactky how many goals Guerron scored last year, but the guy didnt play ALL the games either. I remember he got injured at one point last year and was out for almost 2 months. and his card accumulation was high. So high that he missed out like 4 games in a row at another point in the season. when he could play he always started and from what i remember he scored in a good number of appearances he had or assisted.

and who cares if he played in a poor team? he scored against lots of top teams in brazil (flamengo, santos, sao paulo, etc. ) and proved he has quality to play in that league. Jefferson Montero plays in Betis and only has one measely goal this season yet no one complains. When him and Felipe Caicedo played in a poor team like Levante no one said shit. As a matter of fact the most praised strikers exactly a year ago were Guerron and Caicedo for their club performances. So as of right now I dont see what the big deal is if Guerron would make the cut. When Antonio Valencia played in Recreativo Huelva no one made a fuss. Its not like we dont know how Guerron plays, hes not a new player to the NT and has deserved his return since a while ago.

And im not quite sure what you mean when you said Caicedo is done til next summer?? he scored today. Some people are still holding grudges against these dudes making it seem like we dont have material. smh, if Benitez deserved another chance this qualifier i dont see why these other two guys dont. Theyve proved themselves in better leagues than mexicos. If we had Felipe, chucho, guerron, and jaime all as strikers we'd actually be doing sh*t right. guess we'll have to continue with narciso and the rest of these ripe strikers playing in the campeonato.

I'm gonna go out on limb and say Fidel Martinez has been one of the better strikers in the league. I'll take him over Barcos. Did you see the game against Velez, he had a solid game. He's not a pure striker, but he can get his goals. He's a lot more versatile, he can play behind the forward, and plays both flanks well. He also helps a lot on defense and in recovering the ball.

I'm not against ever calling up foreigners but come on, what message does it send to guys. You have guys like Martinez busting their tail off every week and they are looked over and not given a chance. Barcos still has to earn it. And we'll have to see how his form holds up, trust me, playing two games every week is gonna catch up to him...

If Martinez is currently playing BETTER than Barcos, then by all means, same for any other player but if he gets the call up just because he was born in Ecuador regardless wether he is better or not, I dont think thats right.

Rojas, Caicedo, Montero, Ibarra and Guerron are all doing well in their respective clubs. Hope they get called up to the National team for qualifiers

Montero will more than likely get a call up. Everyone else is questionable although I hope the majority of them make the cut.

The way things are going I think Guerron, Caicedo, and Montero should without any doubts be on the NT. not a single doubt about that since last year.

Right now Rojas, Arroyo, Fidel Martinez, Enner Valencia, Renato Ibarra, and Gaibor are all in direct competition for a spot. I honestly think this round of the Qualifier is gonna be the hardest to select players because the majority of these guys are doing really well in their clubs. So who do choose? the guys we've been working with like Rojas or Arroyo who have done well in the NT or do we make changes and add guys like Guerron, Ibarra, Caicedo, and Ener Valencia who are doing exceptionally well in their club teams? tough decision.

I honestly think I'd go for Valencia, Montero, Suarez, and Ibarra or Rojas as my 4 wings for this round. Caicedo, J Ayovi, Benitez and Guerron as my strikers.

He's in Vitesse. He's been there since the beginning of the season but for the past few months has solidified himself as a starter by assisting and scoring some impressive goals.

The next call up that's coming up will probably break some hearts...On the wings we have several players to choose from. Valencia and Montero are locks, as is Suarez because of his current form. That leaves a spot for Rojas, Ibarra and E. Valencia. Although he could choose two of the three and go with Suarez as a striker.

As for the forwards, if Rueda takes 4, Benitez and Caicedo are in. Jaime Ayovi was a lock up until recently but he has lost his starting spot and him making the cut will depend on how he finishes the season with Pachuca. It's a shame really, that team does not maximize what they have in him. They play him out of position. That opens up two spots, and Rueda could go several ways. He can go with Mina, Guerron (hopefully he doesn't forget his visa), Fidel Martinez, or go with a naturalized player-Bieler or Barcos. If it were up to me, I would go with Ayovi and Martinez.
