Thanks for the news... I'm concerned this injury will leave Falcao out of the friendly vs Spain...

Hopefully he is back on Saturday.

who cares about the Spain game we are not going to win !!! No matter if we have 5 Falcaos because Bolillo is going to BUNKER !!

I prefer have a 100% Falcao for Copa America and WCQs who by which time we have a new coach

totally disagree, 100% dude. If we play well against Spain, we gain respect. The team gains confidence and they play better against weaker teams. If we lose and get blown out, we'll get laughed at. Come on man, how can you not care about this game?

I haven't found a link yet but according to soccernet, the game is 3-0 Porto so far. 2 goals from Hulk and the other from James. Guarin on the bench and Falcao not present. They don't seem very complete so not sure if Guarin ever made it on the pitch.

We play a cup match tomorrow night vs Benfica, and for the first time in a while, Falcao has been called up. Good news, as it means that his rehab went well. I don't think he'll start the match, as we need him fully fit for the league and Europa League; I'm guessing he could come on as a sub if needed.

James and Guarin were also called, and I'd expect J-Rod to start for sure.

James and freddy played. No falcao. They lost on two big defensive blunders in the first half from what I understood of the play by play offered by journal record.

I didn't see the game, but Falcao did not play. This was just a cup match, so we couldn't afford to get him hurt. Guarin came off the bench in the 2nd half and did well. James started, but didn't make much of an impact since the entire team was playing poorly.

Not one of our better performances, by all accounts. :D

Aside from Varela, Porto looked rusty as a whole. James didn't play well. One of his few plays of note was a failed attempt at back healing a goal.

He got subbed at the half and I stopped watching there. No idea how Guarin did.

James started, Guarin subbed in. James played pretty well and was big part of Varela's gol.

It sucs that James is practically an undistinguished starter already yet the two called for the NT haven't started in 3 weeks.

Can't wait to get Falcao back, guys. Our attack is so much more lethal with Hulk on the right wing, James/Varela on the left, and Falcao through the middle.

Hope he's back for next weekend's derby match vs Braga, and then we play Sevilla in the Europa League a couple days later!

    You guys tell me, haha.

He was rested for the game tonight to make sure that he's 100% fit when he next takes the pitch for Porto, which will be either next weekend vs Braga, or on the 18th of February vs Sevilla.

But Porto doesn't have the authority to stop the Colombian federation from playing Falcao vs Spain, I think.

In a meaningless game such as this friendly against Spain you should NEVER risk playing someone who is clearly not 100%.

But our coach is not the brightest, and has been known to play players who are not in shape. The only way Falcao doesn't start is if he says loud and clear that he isn't ready to. If there is any lingering problems I hope he does just that.
