Trying something new with that MOTM poll, figured it would be fun. There's a chance we might get trolled by people from other forums or some people might dislike it, in which case I won't make it next time.

Schalke is currently sitting 4th in the Bundesliga, and recently beat 3rd place Leverkusen 2-1. If we don't sleep on them, we should be fine. Germany always has a tough atmosphere for our men, but we should be handle them with relative ease if our defense holds up, Iker holds the fort and CR7 comes back with some blood lust and hunger. It'll be interesting to see if Carlo goes with the safer option of BBC (Bale, Benz, Cris) or if he'll take a gamble with Jese, but I seriously doubt it. Jese might be a half-time or late game substitute imo. Sergio got some much needed rest from the Elche game, so he'll be fit and ready to go.

Schalke has an outstanding talent in Julian Draxler, but he just recently came back from injury, and might be left out of this upcoming game. Kevin Prince-Boateng is definitely one of their biggest weapons, we need to keep him on our radar. They also have one of our former players in Huntelaar, no doubt he'll be trying to show up. Schalke usually fields a standard 4-2-3-1 formation. The team composition will likely be as follows:

I don't know what to expect from this one. Schalke is pretty much a surprise bag. They can be great one week and total shit the next but since coming back from the winter break they have been great. 13 points out of 5 games, not to shabby at all, even better than what bayern managed. Still expect Real to win this over the two legs could be close, could be a total domination we'll see.

:coffee: Don't worry, I sacrificed enough chickens. If we don't win, I'll just up the amount of chickens I slaughter.

Schalke are very unpredictable... They are also very inconsistent..

They could lose 6-0 to bottom ranked team one day and then beat bvb/Leverkusen the following day..

They also have the disadvantage of having one of the weakest coaches in the BL..

However schalke have one of the biggest young talent factories in the BL. They have a very young squad..

These are players to keep an eye on.,

Draxler, Hunterlaar, KPB, Neustadter, goretzka, Meyer, farfan, szalai

If they pull of a miracle in the first leg, I still believe Madrid will thrash them at home.,

Overall Madrid will go through ;)

    Your absolutely right about schalke.

But bayern have won every game since the restart, they still have MD left today..

Sammer is trolling Schalke as we speak, going on about Draxler leaving Schalke and joining Bayern in the future. Hopefully he goes hard and keeps them busy.

Ha, didn't think about that. Was really surprised as I looked at the stats. :D

If bayern hands over 45 million € I think schalke will part with draxler gladly.

It sucks that we play both games before the biggest games left in our Liga campaign.

The next two games are serious business. If we beat Atletico, we'll be the undisputed league leaders. That'd be sick! I'll let @Eddie make that thread, and if we draw or lose, I will blame him. :D

I'm expecting 2 goals from Cristiano.

I'm glad we get to get a game in with CR7 before we go @ Atletico

No defensive, extra careful ideas for a slick draw stuff either. We need a positive away result from the start. Anything else, and i will be severely disappointed.

I'm very slightly [if irrationally] unnerved by the thought of a CL R16 tie given that we have not progressed beyond that round in the last decade or so except when JFM has been our manager and this is in Germany to boot.

This is a big week obviously; it's time to show up and play our best football. I'm sure we'll be fine.
