    Mota > > Any Korean ACM/Shadow striker.

근데 존니 잘어울리네.. 하나도 어색하지 않다. 모따야, 니가 대표팀에 발탁돼면 한국은 4-3-3에서 제대로됀 4-4-2가 가능할것 같다.

For me this is a really surprising news.
If Mota becomes a KNT player, KNT will be much stronger than now.

He's too good to be on our squad. I don't mean that as any kind of a compliment but as an honest opinion. He's going to embarrase the team Korea and the rest of the real "Korean" players for being one of our best players. Very much like Alex of last World Cup (which I should say was a stunning performance from whom I thought was incredibly untalented to say the least). That said, it's not like as if we had never heard this before. Botti anyone? We all know what happened to that guy.

Why can't these guys just take Korean citizenship FIRST, THEN work hard to getting recognized by the national team coach whomever that may be? Otherwise, we really don't know what the purpose his citizen-switch is--glory hunting or a true will to help out Korea and represent for them. I think the latter is nearly non-existant but at least by becomming Korean before any national team player woes coming out can convince us enough to believe it.

Motta to Naturalize: The Brazillian Who Chose Red

Dubbed as the K's best striker, Motta, the "Blue-eyed Killer" (27.Seongnam) says that he wants to naturalize in time for South Africa 2010 to play for the Korean National Team.

During the interview with 4-4-2's July edition, Motta unveiled his special plans "after satisfying the naturalization requirements, I shall be reborn into a Korean. I want to wear the Korean uniform for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa."

Desipte last season's daunting injury, Motta, who led Seongnam to victory, recieved a notice from Luxembourgo (ex-Brazil, Real Madrid, current head coach of Santos) to return to Brazil, who was also Motta's coach during his days at Cruzeiro.

It is win-win for both Seongnam Ilhwa and KNT. Seongnam can have an extra non-Korean player by the time Mota naturalizes and KNT earns the one who has the best killer-instinct in couple decades.

He is by far the best striker in the history of the K-League. He can also play on wing as well.

From what i have watched many K-League matches this season, I think currently Mota is the best foreign player in the K-League.

He will be a valuable addition to KNT.

그 날이 되면 행복한 고민을 할 것 같네요.
레드카페에 가니까 박지성은 나름대로 인정을 받고 있더군요.

The funny thing is whenever I watched Mota play, I've always thought to myself 만약에 모따가 한국인이였으면 더이상 소원이 없겠다........ BUT now, I don't have to think that to myself because my dream is half way there. :)

I feel somewhat guilty to say this but I must face the fact.

MOTA > 박지성 in all aspects of his game.

Now that my excitement has somewhat settled, I'm getting the feeling that when he actually does naturalize, there will be some unsettling public sentiment revolving around the issue of a non-ethnic Korean representing the nation. Given precedent itself, there shouldn't be any controversey, mainly because the likes of Park Kang-jo (Japanese green-card holding 3-Gen Zainichi Korean) and Jang Dae-il (whose father is English). However, the rising issue will be blood-lines; and there are purists - citizens and politicians alike that will voice themselves, masquerading in irrationality, in which, some -if not many, will buy.

He may be the best striker in K-league at this very moment but in the history of K-league? I don't think so.
I'd put Shasha, Hwang Sun-hong, and even Kim Hyun-seok in front of him.

Mota must understand that his naturalisation will not guarantee him a spot in 2010 WC squad. He will have to fight against other players including up and coming young stars.

Interesting. It reminds me of those Brazilians who naturalized as Japanese and one even played for them in 1998.

Now, this is a dead serious question, so don't go flaming me.

In today's Korean society, with the influx of South Asian immigrants, whites living there, and intermarriage with other Asians, what is the general view towards non-Koreans who are taking up Korean citizenship? And how may this affect the acceptance Motta may or may not get from Korean fans?

In other words, is the traditional ethnic nationalism and the view that to be Korean, you had to be Korean by blood waning? Or is it still deeply entrenched and widespread?

Few hate with their guts it's happening, but most either live with the change or they simply don't care.

Now, a question to you from me personally, Han. Why is it that more and more posts you make, more and more you seem to show characteristics of an average J.ap? I will be waiting for your response. Remember not to flip out this time.
