How about a thread for your favorite Small stadiums around the world?

Lets keep them 12,000 seating or less.

That Stadium looks hella sick!!!! I can see a stadium like that in a real Congested Real Estate area here in the US. Its perfect for cities with a developing Downtown or an already developed one too.Kinda like San Francisco, or New York, Boston or even in Like Vancouver. Id kill for a place like that.

Great thread Ceezmad! The first arena you posted, Norrport arena, is actually from 1903! It is home to GIF Sundsvall of the Swedish Superetta (div2) and was most recently renovated and rebuilt in 2002. It seats 8000 - 8500.

Sweden has a lot of these medium sized SSS. A variety are viewable here.

One specific new addition to the football arena landscape, has been the Guldfågeln Arena (guldfågeln=the GoldenBird - which is the brandname of a poultry producer) in Kalmar (SE Sweden).
THE FACTS: The field is 68x105 meters and the arena is 118x150m (max height = 21m). Distance from row 1 to field is 6m.
It seats 11 800 people, grassmaster turf (grass + 2-7% artificial), 13 entrances, 123 toilets (+100 urinals), 13 kiosks, full-service restaurant, pub for up to 300 people, lounge for 800-1000 people, 12 suites, pressbox for 50 journalist (+ cafeteria), souvenir boutique, conference facilities, 9 change rooms, 2 adjacent fields, webstudio, 3 TV camera platforms, 60+ TVs throughout the arena, 34km of heated tubing under field with 18m^3 of glycol/water,
The blog from construction shows a bunch of the behind the scenes pics, even if the whole blog is only in Swedish.

Swedbank Stadium in Malmö is also quite impressive (built in 2009), but is a bit larger and seats 21000.

Guldfågeln Arena; for the sounds of it, the arena is for 10,000 permanent seats and a 4,000 standing room section; the 4,000 standing room section can be replaced (for International games) with extra 1,800 seats bringging the total seated area to 11,800, so perfectly under the 12K limit.

Well if we believe Wikipedia it cost 250 million Krona in 2011.

That converts to 38 Million USD.

Fellow small stadium connoisseur here. A couple of awesome stadiums for your viewing pleasure. I wish more small soccer stadiums like these would pop up in the lower divisions here in America as time goes on. The atmospheres would be great.

    SAS Arena - Denmark - 11,908

This is an interesting stadium. It was built by the same company that built the temporary Empire Field stadium for the Whitecaps. This one is permanent, and while very simple, might be a lot cheaper than the traditional bricks and mortar type.

    Hugo Chavez Stadium - Libya - 10,500

    ha, I like the name.

But fudged it if he wants to use his petro dollars why not, NASL teams would not mind playing in Citgo stadium.
