Haha, what a clever title. What is the situation with Alba, how much time does he have left on his contract?

    Some news;

[Rumours on Soriano, Mascherano, Riverola, Hleb, and Alba]

~ Orobitg (agent Soriano): "No decision yet, press talks a lot. He could join Benfica, the first team, Fulham, Austria, Belgium..." [ant1]

~B forward Soriano (26) and Benfica have a deal on a 4-year contract. He'll move in the summer, when the deal will also be announced [record]

~ Guardiola’s agent yesterday lunched with the agents of Valencia left wing player Jordi Alba (22) in a restaurant in Valencia. [superdeporte]

~ AC Milan are interested in Argentinean midfielder Javier Mascherano (27) for next season and would be willing to pay 15M. [sportmediaset]

~ Setti (vice-president Bologna): "Riverola has a bright future, we hope we can close the deal. Are we optimistic? Yes." [tuttomercatoweb]

~ Bartomeu on Hleb: "We're looking for a club for Hleb, we're negotiating. He certainly won't return to the club."

[Contract Renewals for Oier, Cuenca, Abidal]

~ B goalkeeper Oier Olazabal (22) has been offered to renew until 2015. He'd be promoted and become the third goalkeeper next season. [sport]

"We made Abidal an offer and we're waiting for his answer. We give him time to think. It's a key player, we hopes he accepts it."

"We're holding talks with Cuenca. We count on him for the first team next season." [ona]

~ The renewal talks with Barcelona B winger Isaac Cuenca (20) are well-advanced. Both parties want to close a deal. [ona]

Fontas tore an ACL last night, and will be having surgery. I'd assume this means an opportunity opens for Muniesa.

Bad to worse depth wise in defense.

i think bartra would be ahead of muniesa for promotion. muniesa is a few years younger and bartra has already been promised promotion next season anyway.

Muniesa can play CB and LB though. Bartra is RB (only nominal CB at best), and Montoya has been selected to cover that position.

not sure where you get that idea, bartra is a first choice CB for the B-team. reminds me of pique.

in his few appearances for the first team he has played as a CB, with the only exception being when he had to fill in as a RB away to athletico when we had a bunch of injuries or suspensions.

Kaká to PSG makes too much sense. I mean, Callejón is now playing ahead of him, and Flo Perez is never going to recoup what he spent on him--especially if Mou leaves him to rot on the bench.

Not that I care too much. :D

Soriano has been sold to Red Bull Salzburg. Can't believe he only played on the senior team a couple times. :(

Does this mean we are still in the market for a forward?

I doubt it. We have Messi, Alexis, Cuenca, and Pedro already, along with Iniesta and Fabregas who can play in the front three and Tello waiting for a chance from the B-team.

I heard Dongou might be Soriano's replacement at Barca B, excellent news. :)

Anyone know if there's a buy back clause on Soriano?

A great player to see in your ranks would be Pjanic, he is class and fits into your style of play exactly. I wonder if anything will happen but that would be a world class signing for Bosnia and Barcelona

Miralem Pjanic? He's a decent player, but it's hard to see him contributing for Barcelona in the future. Simply put, he is not THAT good and the position he plays in has somewhat tense competition in Barcelona.

One has to like him though. Scoring to kill LPB off in CL is always sweet. :p

What are we at, 14 fit first teamers? I have faith in the B teamers also but I also wouldn't be against picking up a seasoned body or two for this half of the season. Not that we're linked to anyone atm.

When we're linked with a loan move for Forlan I thought that was a particularly good idea. As it turned out there was no truth in the story. But someone like him and perhaps an experienced defender brought in on loan would a good move, imho. Anyway, it's all academic cause we ain't getting anyone.

Ignore him, it's just his typical Bosnian bias kicking in. It's happend on this forum before.

Pjanic had a chance to join Barca when he was 17 but took on OL instead. Wasn't a bad move but I doubt he'll ever get another chance to join this club. We don't need him here anyways since Thiago, Rafinha, and Roberto are coming through for example.

He's part of the (future) second Barcelona anyways, AS Roma. :D

Hm I think Alba would be a good buy kinda like a replacement for Maxwell, that if he's willing to be on the bench for Abidal though.

If/when Alba comes here, he should be the main starter for the leftback spot.

I love King Abi to death but he is getting up in age and we need refreshment and younger players in the XI for the big games like against LPB. Puyi and Abidal were struggling alot yesterday and while they can still perform on occasion, they won't be able to do it consistently.

Alba as a starter for me if he comes.

You guys need a quality cb or two asap. Puyol is getting up there an Pique isn't as good a defender as people make him out to be.
