Could you believe that? (I'm covered with that line whether the defense is good or bad.)

So we all agree, Chandler and Gonzalez showing why you don't break in defenders in WCQ?

Not that we had much of a choice with Chandler

why would anyone be surprised at how poorly the US defense has been?

where have you guys been? They've been awful going back to the qualifying round of the last world cup.

Look, you need to throw guys like Cameron and Gonzalez into these games at some point. You can't keep dragging out Boca or sub-par players like Goodson and a clearly past it Gooch.

I don't care who you are, you're going to look bad down in Honduras if you're not Mexico.

Except for our 3-1 record in qualifying down there. So pretty much you're wrong.

Klinsmann has done a shite job prepping the roster, wasting opportunities that he could have utilized to blend the roster LONG before freaking WORLD CUP QUALIFYING.

good lord, the excuses make me nauseous.

Caught flat footed and ball watching on both goals...

Center-back pairing looked lost, almost as if they'd never played together before. Hmmm...
    Chandler was an absolute abomination.

Chandler was the worst player on the field by a country mile.

Gonzo and Cameron looked like they had never played with each other which they hadn't.

    Johnson wasn't very good either.

I will say that the defense got almost no support from the midfield who as a unit where just as bad.

Just an embarrassing lack of effort and concentration from Gonzales, Cameron and Chandler. Gifted that game away on both goals. F*cking terrible

The team looked like they just played a match prior to this one. Everyone looked so tired. Johnson was pretty much non-existent and Chandler was awful. Instead of clearing the ball, Chandler held it and the Honduran player took it which then caused the corner for the goal. The 2nd goal, Howard and Cameron got mixed up on who should take the ball which caused the goal. Silly errors cost us the game. Aside from those errors, Cameron and Gonzalez actually did well together. Give them time, and they can become a solid pairing.

The CB's were the best of the 4 defenders, and Cameron was good up until he barfed away that goal, Chandler was pathetic, I'd start Parkhurst over him if Cherundolo can't go.

Gonzalez blew up in our faces. YOU DONT START A ROOKIE in that situation and that's why. Cameron not sharp. Chandler and Johnson both looked average at best.

The defense sucked, very unorganized. We knew this was our weakest point, but I had no idea it would fold like this under pressure.

Keep burying your head in the sand. This team has been terrible defensively and has been keeping scorelines down by Tim Howard..

We need Boca and Dolo back. Break in the other guys at the Gold Cup, they aren't ready yet.

Costa Rica is now a must win.

This, people blame Bradley for goal #1, blame Chandler for being an idiot and not clearing the ball.

Chandler was bad but he was nothing close to Cameron. He's gonna get a pass around here because he's supposed to be our golden boy back there, but I havent seen a CB performance that bad in our shirt maybe ever. Clarence "Goals" Goodson included.

We don't have the luxury of time. If we end up with 1 point from 3 games, its panic mode for sure.

I'm not making any excuses, I'm calling a spade a spade.. The US hasn't produced any top-notch defensive talent in years.

    And it shows..

Chandler was bad. I stopped calling for Parkhurst for this game.... kind of joined the Chandler bandwagon even though I didn't really believe in it. Parky is my #2 RB once again.

Gonzo and Cameron need to do a better job at staying with their men. Both of the goals against us could have been prevented if our CBs watched and stayed with their marks better.
