De Nigris is so out of form he should not have been called up until league play improves. Meanwhile, R.Jimenez has been tearing it up for America.

Mier and R. Jimenez for H. Ayala and De Nigris.

not only that but one thing aquino has over barrera is that defense. several times he tracked back and stole the ball from the danes to re-start an attack.

It remains to be seen how Guardado feels going back to his old position after so long. I'd rather play him on defence if only to make space for both Aquino and Gio. Something like this:

    --------------------- Corona -------------------
    Meza ---- Maza ----- Moreno ---- Guardado
    ---------- Herrera --------- Salcido -----------
    Aquino ------------------------------------- Gio
    ---------- Chicharito ----------- Oribe ---------

Ideally we would play with an enganche, and that would mean dropping either Oribe or Chicharito for Marquito, but Chepo a) would rather play Marco as a winger and Gio in the centre against all common sense, and b) he's in love with 4-4-2 now because I don't ********ing know. I just hope we don't go the way of England.

I would like to see Oribe play behind Hernandez - playing a Rooney role.

I know thats not his role at Santos - but im sure he'd be capable of doing so.

It's how he's been playing since September with Chepo, except that it's a total waste of time when we have a tried and true media punta in Fabián.

both cheech and oribe do good holding the ball and passing off. Post up playing if you will.

They are not playmakers. Mexico's attacking game in the last six months has been incredibly predictable, relying too much on the wings and with no one to actually take a moment and bring down the game's tempo. It's no coincidence that every goal the team has made when both strikers play has been scored in the second half, almost in the dying minutes of the match, a byproduct of the opposing defenders getting mentally and physically exhausted.

playing with two strikers has been ineffective

either go with Chicharo or Oribe up top with Gio, Fabian, or even Reyna behind the striker

Alternatively: We tried playing a 4-1-3-2 against Costa Rica back in September after the seventieth minute. I would be in favour of trying that in upcoming friendlies.

I too dont like playing with 2 strikers. Cheech is the definite starter with Oribe being his backup. Gio and Fabian should definitely be ahead of Reyna in the pecking order.

Problem that i see is that we are playing way too slow and are allowing way too much time for the opposition to reorganized their defenses. The team plays the ball from the back slowly and then they move the ball forward timidly and when pressured they pass back instead of attempting a long or medium range pass.

I would like to see a little more risk taking from midfield. We need more attacking midfielders because our DM can't pass worth a damn. I don't want to see Aquino start because he is way too defensive.

I would like to see something like this, 4-2-3-1
    -----------------------Corona--------------------
    ---Meza---------Maza-------Moreno------Nilo--
    ------------------Salcido-----Herrera-------------
    --------Gio-------------Reyna------------Guardado--
    ------------------------Chicharito--------------------

subs: Aquino for Guardado, Fabian for Reyna, Oribe for Chicharito

    -----------------------Corona--------------------
    ---Meza---------Maza-------Moreno------Nilo--
    ------------------Salcido-----Herrera-------------
    --------Gio-------------Fabian------------Aquino--
    --------------------------Oribe--------------------

Reasoning is simple, the whole midfield and forward line have played together before and should have good chemistry. I'm tired of seeing bad passing because of lack of familiarity between our attackers. Chemistry is one of those intangibles that is way too easy overlooked

In the Future with the favored 4-2-3-1 formation

    -----------------------Corona--------------------
    ---Meza---------Maza-------Moreno------Nilo--
    ------------------Zavala-----Herrera-------------
    ---------Gio-----------Fabian-----------Vela-------
    ----------------------Chicharito--------------------

Reyna, Aquino, Aldo, Peralta, Raul jimenez, and Guardado as subs

Knowing Chepo I can see Aguilar and Arce both getting playing time (Aguilar even being starter).

The option instead of Aguilar is Meza who is also useless so it's lose lose here.
I personally would not mind chepo going all FIFA 13 on us and putting Hugo Ayala as fullback.

    Ayala--Maza--Moreno--Torres Nilo

I'd choose Vidrio or Jimenez over Meza and Aguilar. What happened to them?

I'd put Diego Reyes at RB. Didn't he do that vs Brazil?
