I'll take a point here. Uwe are you going??
I hope Uwe won't hate me for this but we need all 3 points here..this is another game against a team that we should somehow find a way to win.We are still within range to hit the upper 3rd of the table!
Always tough to beat up on the newly promoted bottom dwelling team, but it has to be done in this case. Apologies to Fuerth.
Btw: No need to apologize or feel sorry for me, guys ... I'll take any result, although I'm usually hoping for a draw when both clubs are facing each other. After all, I've been waiting for this "special" game for soooo long time (having experienced former 6 fixtures in the 2nd league)! The situation would have been a lot more uncomfortable for me 2 years ago, when both clubs were damn close to playing each other in two decisive 1./2. BL "play-off" matches...
I expect a very tough away game for BMG in Fürth and thus think the guys will need a top performance in order to pick up another 3 points on the road, especially when knowing about the Thursday EL away match in Marseille (which surely costs a lot of power). Actually, I wouldn't even be surprised to see Gladbach losing ... as Fürth cleary improved their offensive game lately (being the better team both in Hoffenheim & Frankfurt) and will be keen on finally getting the 1st home win in the 1 BL. Nearby, Mike Büskens' guys are in an impressive physical shape (you could see that against Hamburg, Hoffenheim, Bremen & Frankfurt) and know how to give other teams great fights till the last minute (that's their only slim chance to keep the league). And there's another reason for you, dear Naz, to get even more worried ... because we all know that Gerald Asamoah loves scoring against Gladbach (he hasn't scored for Fürth in the 1 BL so far).
Ok, now let me make you feel confident again by telling you that Fürth's defense (do you remember Thomas Kleine?) is very vulnerable when being confronted with fast strikers ... so Herrmann & Hrgota upfront could be a good solution for Sunday (unfortunately, they are rather bad in finishing) ... and by also telling you that Fürth NEVER managed to win a competitive match against M'gladbach in the past (only reaching a 2:1 test game victory ahead of the start of last season).
Am glad i am not a two or thee fav team fan,it's been Gladbach for me since i figured out what's football all about and will remain like that...but it sure is difficult to have two fav teams..specially in the same league!
Fürth is a hard working physical side, but i like to see some of our bench getting play time...I still have much confidence in most of our bench players...sadly that game in cypress against AEL,that game should have been the game which we had to attended full force and with all our regular starters...whereas the game against Fürth realistically should be the game ...we should start with most of our bench and keep Arango, daems etc fresh for OM game....I'd be more than happy with a draw in the buli and another solid win in France
THAT CHUMP of a player..what's his name " Joey Barton" has opened his "Pie Hole"an made comments regarding our win and how Gladbach ain't good enough.....I sure hope they can call the paramedics after the return leg and pull is feet out of his mouth !
Awful weather (cold & rainy) here right now and also tomorrow ... so I'm happy that the "Südtribüne" in Fürth got roofed at the beginning of this season.
Let's hope for a good, exciting and fair game in a full stadium (18,000).
Lets hope the referee does not screw the entire game...man the bundesliga should really do something about the referees,it's actually a global thing....I was watching the PK against us during the Freiburg game....how on earth was that a PK???
I have a feeling there will be lots of goals,i hope Dubai broadcasts this game...instead of the VFB and 96 game...since they are the two late games
On a totally different note....our x coach and Gladbacher Mike Frontzeck and his club..is sitting at the bottom of the 2.liga .The guy just never gets a break...or perhaps coaching is not for him???
X-Gladbacher,kleine ejected in the first 10 min
Too bad the Dubai station has picked the VFB game over Gladbach...so am not sure how and why he got a red card...specially so early in the game...could it have been a direct red???? WOW!
We better win this with an extra man,all the positive that has happened in the past 4 weeks..will royaly GO DOWN THE TUBES...if we lose to a team that's at the bottom of the Buli table a man down and already 2-1 ahead...this ain't good, this ain't good one bit
How about 3 ???
Can't complain one bit,just sucked i couldn't watch it
Pretty happy with moving up the table...also it was brilliant in such a physical game neither of our players got booked!
Perfect mindset and momentum for thrashing Limassol at Borussia Park
Lets win over Stuttgart before start thinking on Limassol
Good win today. We played OK. A bit shaky in the defence today, but it was nice with a win. Only 1 point away from EL spot and 3 from CL spot.
That was a correct pk call, dear Naz (just ask Juan Arango) ... same as both pk calls of tonight.
Damn, you've got a really good feeling.
It was the same situation as occured in our EL home match vs Fenerbahce, when the Turkish defender only got penalised with a yellow card.
Harsh, but correct decision (in my eyes) from the referee tonight. That early red card was surely decisive for the course of the match after an unexpectedly furious/strong start of the home team.
Fürth had 2 good chances to score the 3:3 equalizer (even though not being able to really threaten Ter Stegen's goal), before a last-minute pk (scored by Marx) decided this exciting game and made around 3,000 Borussen happy.
Unfortunately, there's no link with the goals available in the net (you'll need "FohlenTV" for the highlights or whole game).
PS: Wow, @ Danne is still alive! It seems he badly wanted to see how Mikkelsen (he had the chance to score the late equalizer) is doing against BMG.
Btw: Here's some first impressions from Fürth ... maybe I'm posting some more pics later on.
He's actually doing quite well there. They sacked their former coach just a month ago, at the bottom of the table, and signed Frontzeck; Michael got 7 points from his first 3 games so far (Paderborn A, Dresden H, 1860 A), so I think they're quite happy with him so far. Next game tonight vs Bochum.
That's why then.Had no clue he took over when they already where comfortably situated at the bottom of the ocean floor,7 points in 3 games is as good as it gets...lets not jinx the guy.
Wish him more luck ..perhaps he can break into the top flight with his new club
Match report in English:
I only could watch the highlights off bundesliga.com
Was the red card shown to Kleine deserved? I watched the clip like 5 times....granted it only showed one angle...and from a distance...but i really didn't see any reason for a direct RED CARD....acts like that by referees nowadays totally kill the direction and quality of a game.I hope it was 100% justified...if not furth was robbed and we got away with 3 undeserved points!!!!
Have a look at the "Sky" hq clip (highlights) I posted above and figure out. Most Fürth fans say it was no red card (even some BMG fans tend to agree), but I personally think the decision was correct. Herrmann didn't dive and wouldn't have been caught by the other defender (near the last man Thomas Kleine) if he didn't fall.
Ken, what is your opinion?
Btw: Both strikers Hanke (great assists) & Herrmann were pretty good I think ... and TF seems to agree with me.
Oscar Wendt caused an incredibly silly pk, but repaid his mistake by scoring his first BL goal in the Gladbach dress (after great assists from Hanke & Herrmann). Arango & Jantschke (how slow is he???) looked pretty bad in the 1:2 scene just before half-time.
Can't watch the sky clip,it's blocked...but one thing i have to look into it deeply..and that's what warrants a referee to show a direct red card....I mean I don't care what's written in the books ...but I think common sense would over ride any rule here...something really inhumane harsh and really malicious should take place btw two players/ players to receive a direct RED ...
Sorry didn't know that.
Btw: The second card für Fürth wasn't straight red but yellow/red. Didn't matter anyway, being the last action before kick-off.
Yea it sucks...when I fly back to Vancouver i will explain why..i can't watch the video clips..but I was referring to the
Direct RED to kleine,i think that did not qualify for a direct red....I mean c'mon for crying out loud..a direct red card 10 min into any game...just totally destroys the quality and path of the game
Clips are blocked for me too, BTW. Work thing. At home, I don't have the bandwidth.
