Caught "RIO" with the little sister. Very good movie. The casting director did a fantastic job with the voices. Huge fan of Tracy Morgan as the bulldog.

I think I have that queued on Netflix, actually; now I've finished watching Battlestar Galactica, I can start on my massive foreign film list. When he was in town, Sarge and I were talking about Oldboy, which I really want to see. Nothing like murder via claw hammer to angry up the blood.

Oldboy is good, not sure I liked lady snowblood as much...the other film in the trilogy is quite good, but I forget the name

Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance. And dammit, I just started watching Caprica, so I'm waiting on films again. Fortunately, there was only one season of that show, so I'm starting the Vengeance trilogy afterward.

The trailer for the Hunger Games is out.

Have to say I was very skeptical about this series when it was recommended to me time and time again, but thanks to Amtrak's shitty wifi giving me nothing to do on one trip, I gave it a shot, and it was definitely worth it. There is a flood of big budget movies coming out next year, but this is the one I am most looking forward to.

Saw Bridesmaids this weekend. Pretty funny.

Also saw "Holes" which is a Disney movie from 8 years ago and was actually pretty good! My boy read the book and loved it and they did a good job with it.

The December releases have been really good so far. Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is great - although I recommend waiting to see this on blu-ray/HBO. MI:4 delivered on the mindless entertainment and is a good bit of escapism, but I'd say The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo takes the cake as the must watch release of the holidays.

While I was at the theater yesterday I noticed them setting up a display for Wrath of the Titans. Who in their right mind would greenlight a sequel to what is widely considered the worst big budget movie in many years.

Recently saw this and loved it:

"It Might Get Loud", the rock documentary
with Jimmy Page, The Edge, and Jack White.

I just watched Gomorrah (2008). I thought it was fine, but nothing great. I had high hopes for it. Gave it a 6/10. It's an honest depiction of the modern day mafia in Italy. I enjoyed its grit but the editing was choppy and the subtitles could have been better.

I saw that on a trans-Pacific flight a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it, but what I really enjoyed was Air Canada's on-demand in-flight entertainment system that made a 10-hour flight just scoot by.

Sweet! I will make a mental note to remember that fine airline.
I loved Virgin Air, tons of movies, cable, and games on screen behind
    every seat.

Back on topic, has anyone seen, "Young @ Heart"?

Wasn't that the film that Mario Balotelli saw and was subsequently inspired to take a tour of some of the film's featured locales, and everyone thought he was connected to the mafia?

Yeah, I didn't dislike it, but I'd be lying if I said it moved me.

Watched "8 1/2" with the wife the other night. We both loved "La Dolce Vita" but "8 1/2" was a struggle. Visually, it's stunning, but we literally could not stay awake for more than 20 minutes at a time watching it.

No complaints about Claudia Cardinale, though. I've had a thing for her since seeing her in "Once Upon A Time In The West."

Yeah, my wife and I saw it two nights ago....good but brutal. I haven't read any of the Larsson books, but my wife said that the movie was pretty faithful other than one part about the end which I won't spoil for others.

I'll probably read the book first, watch the Swedish film second, then try the US version.

By the way, I just read The Hunger Games which they're releasing as a film in 2012 which should be great. The story is easily adapted to the screen.
