I mean Arsenal and Chelsea both hate Tottenham with a passion. Why is this? Just curious.

Thanks for your time and thoughts,

It's a London thing...they are all located in the same town. Arsenal and Tottenham are both in North London....they have been rivals for ages and the fans hate eachother.

    Up the Spurs!!!!!!

Dawgpound you just might be right...

Every song against Tottenham that I found on the net from Chelsea are soooo anti-semitic I want to puke. Arsenal is not as bad, but I have heard similar things. Arsenal America is run by a Jew and I have chatted with many Jewish Gunners. By the way, I am a Jew.

    Thanks for your thoughts,
    Patrick

The real reason people hate Tottenham is that they think they are a quality side. For a club that hasn't won the league since black and white TV was the norm, they're really reaching to consider themselves a "big club."

Although, I'm not sure what Chelsea are on about, even Sp*rs won the league more recently than Chelsea so...

Perhaps this would be more appropriate in a Rivalry forum...

Just for the record, there are certainly one or true "true" rivalries in the Premiership but if you're in the market for hate, real traditional rivalry exists mainly in the lower divisions these days (where people go to football for more than a prawn sandwich). Instead of wasting time trying to work out why people hate Tottenham (actually, not an awful lot of people do anymore), try:

    Stoke -- Port Vale
    Palace -- Brighton
    Sheff Wed -- Rotherham
    Leicester -- Forest
    Oxford -- Swindon
    Cambridge -- Peterborough

    amongst others.

Er, what are you on about mush?
Wasn't aware that you had to be wining something to dislike another near neighbour...is that an American thing?

Over the past decade we have the yidos beat hands down--but thats not the point and i don't suppose i'll ever get you to understand that.......

The Yidos...that sounds pretty nasty to me. I am a Jew, by the way.

    Whatever,

Don't know? Is making assumptions about Americans a British thing?

    That stings...oooh...such biting commentary...

Tottingham could not beat the MLS's DC United. What does that say about the Spurs?

I can hear the answers already. It was a friendly. I say baloney. There were many players on the pitch that needed to impress the gaffer.

I was under the impression that they fielded a team of several over 40 golden oldies for that testamonial.

    Clan,
If you are referring to Klinsman, he could probably make most Premeirship teams today. Poyet, Rebrov, and others had things to prove. Keller was in the net. Sheringham was up front.

It was a friendly, and Gazza was playing, I believe?? I wouldn't put too much thought into it.

    As were
    Paul allen
    Clive Allen
    Chris Waddle
    Glen Hoddle
    David Ginola
    Gary Mabbutt....and yes, Gazza.

Most of the Yanks may not recognise some of those oldies, but suffice it to say that i called them wankers many, many yeras ago from the North Stand in SW6.

But, the fact that the yidos lost to a yank team made me smile ;)

Go to the Spurs board in the teams section.
Start a thread and ask them for the answers.;)

The only thing to take from the DC United vs. Tottenham Sp*rs game is that DC didn't win by 4 goals or more. It was a friendly against an aging side...Waddle ran about 100 feet the whole second half... Still nice to see Sp*rs lose anyway though...

Yidos is an anti-semitic term like Yids!

I was told that Tottenham USED to be a relatively Jewish area. Now there are Jewish Arsenal fans too.

and Clanblue....Chelsea hasn't won F*** all if I remember correctly...no Premiership titles, FA Cup, or UEFA. Chelsea may own Tottenham but does that really mean that much???
